To all those who have been waiting and to those who may later be interested, I have finished writing 30 patches for the Zoom G2Nu and G2.1Nu. The price will be £25GBP for each pedal to be programmed. Payment can be by Paypal, and files will be sent only by email, as usual. For details and conditions and general enquiries please email me charliehallATntlworld.com (replacing AT with @). Programs are easily installed (I have only tested this with a Windows computer running XP3), requiring a standard printer USB cable, and the Zoom Edit&Share program, which can be downloaded from the Zoom site here: www.zoom.co.jp/english/download/software/edit_share.phpPatch location numbers for the programs are the same as for the older G2 and G2.1u, except that I have added a new Duane patch for the Duane Eddy sound, making 30 patches in all. All the sounds seem better to me than on the older models. I have noticed several improvements with these new models over the old ones. The amp models seem to sound better (especially the AC30 model) and there are more of them. There should be less need to reduce the treble control of a guitar amp when the pedal is used with one, but this will also depend on the sound of that amp. There is a reverb effect called Arena that sounds very good, which I have used for several of the programs including the Abbey Road Reverb patch. The echoes also seem to sound better in some cases. There is a button that can be used to globally switch cabinet simulation on or off, perhaps useful for using the pedal without a guitar amp or amp sim. Direct recording with a USB connection is possible with a suitable driver installed, although I haven't tried that. There is also a power management button on the underside, when switched on it allows the unit to go into power saving standby mode after 25 minutes of non use, useful if running the pedal with batteries. Regards, Charlie

HI CHARLIE .. Great new's from you on this ''affordable'' Zoom -efpt combination & keeping the price of your patches as low as you have done !.. This will help many member's & other/s to get the shad's sound very easily & cheaply & the unit's are now univerally available no-matter which country member's live-in & further to add .. Your email method of sending your patches is also ''global'' no matter where in the world member's may be located .. Many of us ,myself included will want to have a new Zoom -G2nu series unit as another option to our already efpt gear ..[ we all like our ''toy's'' & as most of us are retired ''WHY-NOT '' ''GOODONYA-CHARLIE'.- your patches are ''LEDGENDARY'' world-wide..& now yet another option... CHEERS-MATES ......................barry..

Hi Roy and Ed, I think the Magicstomp is still slightly better for echo sounds but as a pedal overall I prefer the new G2Nu and G2.1Nu and I think the amp modelling sounds good. Hi dreeke, I have just answered your email. Regards, Charlie

Which of the G2nu units did you use Charlie, the basic one or the one with the pedal? Is there any difference (apart from the pedal!) between them?

Hi eltrasero, I programmed the basic one without the expression pedal. The data file will work with both versions and in fact the expression pedal assignment is set up to work as a volume pedal when there is one. The manual is also the same for both models. Regards, Charlie

I haven't tried out Charlie's new patches yet, but from my experiences so far, the G2nu is far superior to the original G2. But if you already have a G2 I wouldn't be in a rush to get the new one because it will cost you around £100 plus £25 for the new patches.

Hi calymarvin, I think the new one sounds better. It would perhaps be wise to wait to see some independent opinions here and maybe hear a sound file or two. Regards, Charlie

Hi, all
I have a new Zoom G2Nu with EFTP patches (I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2) and installing Charlie's patches was a breeze via USB from the Edit & Share program and they sound great for an inexpensive pedal. I have never heard an original G2 with EFTP and can only say the G2Nu is a fantastic pedal all around for the money. I totally recommend it in terms of value for money (I don't work for Zoom)

HI ALL ,And I ''ECHO'' SCOTTS remarks above 100% , I recieve'd my patch-set from charlie,,,,, for a G2NU. that I bought a while back at a good price [actully from a china-dealer in china] & with charlies instruction's that's supplied with the EFPT file IT is so,so easy to load even for a computer-dummy as I am.. I am yet to try-it-out properly but first impressions were good .. THEY certainly are a bargain efpt programable echo-unit & at 25.00 quid the EFPT file is also a bargain...
CHEERS all ''ECHO-HEADS''.......barry..

Hi Charlie
I would like to buy your patches for the Magicstomp and Zoom G2.1nu. I've sent a couple of e-mails,but had no reply.I think I'am using the right address.
If you could send me any details to buy the above that would be great. I would like to say I enjoy reading the postings. You may not hear from me to often because I'am more of a reader than a writer.Anyway
Regards Dave Hi to all the members

That's great Charlie. Superb work Sir.
I shall await some side by side comparisons as I am very happy with my Zoom G2 (especially B6, this sounds superb with my setup). I may treat myself if the reviews are good when I get back from honeymoon if the Mrs will let me that is!
