Hi, everyone, Like most on this splendid forum, I am very interested in the complex echo patterns that our favourite group got on their old kit. Much of the newer. Digital effects do a poor job "out of the box". I am intrigued by the zoom G 5 possibility of chaining multiple effects, and wonder if you can chain multiple delays to give a really flexible set of highly tweak able delay patterns and timings. Has anyone here got one and tried this? I don't want to buy one if there is a restriction that prevents this mode of use. All help and comments will be gratefully received. Seasons Greetings to Charlie and all contributors and readers.
The delay time of any section in a series delay chain will be repeated by other sections in the chain. Series delays can be useful where a single delay block does not have the required facilities, and I have taken advantage of this on some units where there was no other way to produce any kind of result. I had to do this on the Zoom G2, G7 and G9 ranges of models I programmed, otherwise I would not have been able to offer patches for them. Regards, Charlie
Thanks, Charlie. I've since had a brief play with the Zoom G5 at Andertons of Guildford, and even allowing for the issue you raised, it looks like a useful piece of kit. My wife bought me one but she won't let me have it until Christmas day! Regards Geoff
