A guy I've been playing with for a number of years (Simon) has just landed the lead guitar seat in Edison Lighthouse following a drummer (Stefan) we have used in a trio before. I've got two full band gigs with Simon on Friday and Saturday but on Monday we are playing a gig as a trio with Stefan on drums.
I'm chuffed and excited as this is about as near as I'm ever likely to come to actually playing in one of the original 60's bands :-)

Hi Mike
I can understand why you are excited. Many of us, especially I, would aspire to reach that level but are unlikely to do so now. I was in a semi-pro band in 1963-5 before having to give it up to concentrate on following a more conventional career, but there's always that "what if" question. It's lovely to hear of somebody who did it and is still going strong.
Very best of luck and be sure to enjoy yourself.
Cheers
Keith

Hi Mel and Mike
did you not had a similar experience with your gig earlier this year. Hope everything went well, cause I did not hear any comments of you about it.
Equally I would wish Mike the same: have an enjoyable Event, gigging in a 60`s band.
Good Luck

Well it was a great gig despite the weather. We were meant to be outside but being a typical British Bank Holiday Monday it rained so we played indoors. Yes we did play that well know Edison Lighthouse song ;-) Made my weekend and my year! A real "Wow! Is this really happening to me!" moment.
Incidentally, if there is another band (Original members or not) calling themselves Edison Lighthouse, they have no right. Brian Huggins bought the name and sole rights to use it in the UK.

Glad it went well. does seem to be a common thing when several ex members of a band understandably all want to use the name. If Brian has the rights then thats fair enough. Id be a bit miffed if someone was using a name i owned.
