Hello, Can anyone help with this please. I was just about to fit a set of Fender CS54 pickups to the strat I am building but having got them out of the box there just seems no way of knowing which is which. They all look the same, have exactly the same length of cable on each and apart from the Fender Custom Shop sticker on the back of each one, are exactly the same. There are no markings of any sort that I can find so how do I know which is which. The diagram that came with them only shows the wiring diagram- nothing to ID the pickups. Thanks , Derek B

Hi Derek,
Most pickups are identified by using a multimeter, the highest reading is normally the bridge pickup and the lowest the neck. If memory serves me right the CS 54s are the same reading on the middle and neck and the bridge a bit higher. If you don't have a multimeter it would be useful to get one as they only cost about £10.00.
Best regards,
Maurice.

Hi Derek, From memory, when I last fitted a set of CS54 pickups, the bridge pickup had a red dot underneath. Cheers, JB

Hello, Thanks to all who replied to my query with CS54 pups. I managed to find the red dot on the back on one of the poles which means its the high imp and goes to the bridge. You were all correct with saying that the other 2 are the same. Thanks, Derek B
