Hi Charlie, Just checking if I can now post. Very nice looking guitars. Regards George PS It is possible to modify a post after it is posted, so I should add about the guitars ... particularly that cool looking Squier.

Hi George, This is actually my first post here. The pics were posted by Ron and the guitars are his. All other posts up to this point were posted by Ron and because I have edited the profile he made for me when setting up the site, his messages now have my name on them. It may be better to delete this thread and ask Ron to repost his pics. Saw your message on the old site, pleased to know you like the colour scheme here. Regards, Charlie PS Yes it is possible to alter posts. I am adding this sentence now. Just look for the modify button on the relevent post.

Hi Bojan, The smilies come up when you post a reply, at least they do for me but I think it may only have started when I edited an existing post. ;D George

Hi Charlie
The new site is great, can you tell me where you got your new guitars from, especially the Black Squier.I haven't seen one of those before. Thanks Alan

Hi Alan, Glad you like the new site. The guitars are Ron's not mine. There was some initial confusion because Ron posted the pics originally just after he had set up this site, then it was transferred to me and my name was on the post instead of his. As far as I gather from what Ron told me, the black Squier is not a stock guitar. It has had a number of upgrades but I'll leave it to Ron to describe them if he will. Regards, Charlie

Thanks for that Charlie
I do have a Black Strat that I made myself from a Brandoni Kit,but it has a Maple Fingerboard,I was hoping to get an all black one with a Rosewood neck,as all my guitars have Maple boards. Maybe a Rosewood board would give me a different tone, and I like the combination of the Black with the Gold fittings. Alan

Thanks Ron
Masses of info there,it is quite satisfying to finish a project like this.I will probably take this further but not with a Squier?

If the body is good wood and the neck is good, it may be worthwhile. Check the sound of the guitar acoustically. If it sounds boxy and cheap, then it's probably not worth persuing. Regards, Charlie

Charlie,I re-read my reply and it may sound a bit snobbish, which it is not supposed to.
My reason for not using a Squier is that I prefer a rather fatter neck,I don't like the modern thin necks. I have a Custom Shop Strat with what I believe is a Boat Shape neck. Now that I can live with. I also have a brand new USA Fender Tele to part ex,so I would hope to get a decent price for that. I am also hung up on the idea that the guitar would have 22 frets, don't know how hank managed to play Blue Star with a 21 fret Strat? Alan

Ignore comment about 22 frets,I need to go have a lie down.
Alan,not feeling very well,lol
