Hi Charlie. Thanks for your post. It's great to get a fuller picture of your past 20 years. I think what you have achieved is truly amazing! I can't begin to describe the amount of pleasure I get from hearing the various echoes from my HCSE! Thanks again and congratulations. I would also like to thank John for his contribution to this amazing unit. Regards Dave

Hi Alan, Thank you. John Collins put a lot of work into the H & C unit, I believe a lot more than many might give him credit for. For example it was he who discovered the head interactions with passive wiring connections on the Meazzi and Vox units. Very pleased to know that your investment in the H & C units is rewarding for you.
Hi Mark, Thank you. I am smiling!
Hi Bertil, Thank you, I remember one lady thanking me and telling me she was grateful for what I had done for her husband, by relieving stress in connection with his heart condition.
Hi Dave, Thank you. I Know John will appreciate your comments too!
Hi Barry, All in the translation I guess. As long as everyone is not in the same room as me I think I should be safe!
Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
What a great story. I remember seeing Hank on his Fender clinic tour, and picking up an advertising flyer for the new Q2 unit. At the time I was looking for a suitable echo, and shortly afterwards I ordered one of your earley units. It is still going strong and in regular use, and have never felt any need to change to anything else.
Thank you for your dedication to the Shadows cause, and all your hard work !!! Happy Anniversary.
Cheers, Glen

Hi Charlie. very interesting read. yes im sure you have spent countless hours in the project. if only you had been paid big buxs at the start of the project you could have retired years ago. I also met hank. [marvin welch farrer] 40yrs ago at the La Dolca Vita in Birmingham. he looks Tall on stage!!!. can you believe all those years have gone by so fast. do you still have contact with Hank Charlie. as the other guys have said. we all thank you for the work you have done and the pleasure you have given us. even though we are all still trying to find that perfect sound that only the Master can seem to get. thanks again Charlie very much appreciated. Regards Lou

Hi Charlie, Like everyone say's you have sure put a lot of time and effort into producing the shadows sound that we all love. You have to have a lot of knowledge and dedication to produce what you have, good to see you reap some reward now. Also your effort has given guitar pickers like us a lot of happiness and association with other guitar fans. Regards Les.

Hi Glen, Thank you!
Hi Lou, Thank you. I did make quite a lot of money from when we started selling the Q2 and then selling EFTP patches. My frustration was with most of the cheaper units not really being up to the task in many ways, but at the price point I figured they could still make a lot of people happy. I haven't been in touch with Hank since 2009. I could contact him, but I prefer to not waste his time with idle chat.
Hi Les, Thank you!
Hi Bertil, Do not be embarrassed. The English language can contain a lot of hidden innuendo with double meanings. It is not reasonable to expect someone who does not use English as their first language to know these.
Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie
I think its safe to say that you did revolutionize the shadows market really with the EFTP and along with the UB Hank backing tracks has lead to the creation of this Shadows community and the various clubs up and down the country. I remember buying my 508 when i was still at school and then getting patches for it and i was over the moon with the sound i get and then of course i started going to various shadows clubs and ended up on the slippery slope of buying pieces of kit to get me closer to "That Sound" that we all know and love.
So Charlie on behalf of my bank manager i thank you
Regards
Steve

Hi Rosemary, Thank you!
Hi Steve, Thank you. It was actually Pat Terrett of the UB Hank Guitar Club who set up the whole idea of getting lots of us playing like Hank, with the UB Hank backing tracks and his setting up of the UB Hank clubs around the UK and beyond. I'm not sure how long the club had been running before I produced patches for the Quad Plus. I take your point though and I suppose the Shadows community might not have grown so large or may not have sustained itself so well had there not been the means of self gratification from getting closer to the sounds.
Hi Chas, Thank you!
Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, I just wanted to 'echo' all the thanks for your efforts, culminating in the H&CSE. I have always loved that sound right from the time I first heard it. It was back in '61 when started to play and still do, so thanks again on behalf of all like minded. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Ivan.

Hi Charlie,
As a avid fan of your work, I've bought every unit you composed your magic for...from Q's , Zoom's, Yamaha etc. and even 3 HCSE's! The later unit is your and John's brainchild and the ultimate unit ever build for that sound full stop! Some high end units sounding in best case as a sum of some very good average sample's of some Meazzi's...and we all know the 3 units Hank used back in the day were far from that! They were that wretched at one time....they all ended in a dirt pit in some backgarden...Only the Hall&Collins unit recreate the ultimate sound of Hanks "crapy" units with wraths and all.... You kept me playing with joy for the last two decades and for the future....I'm sure if it weren't for you...lots of guitar players had long ago already hang there guitars in a tree... You made my music days, weeks, months, years and decades....thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Rob

Hi Gus, Thank you!
Hi Rob, Thank you! The story I heard was that Dick Denney buried a load of echo units in his garden. Not sure if any were Hank's but the story could well be true. Thank you for your continued support and for recognising the virtues of the H&CSE, and for your confidence in purchasing the 3 units.
Regards, Charlie
