Hall & Collins Echo Question

Hi All Yesterday I placed an order for one of these incredible units.....Just wondering if one of the fellow Aussie members can enlighten me as to how much the Import Tax is for getting the unit to Perth Western Australia and also what is the expected delivery times after ordering just approximates will be fine Thanks in advance and greetings from Perth Wa Been here just on 18 months and love it originally from Tasmania

Hi Again Everyone Well I've Done the Deed.....Today I Have purchased my very own HCSE..... Many thanks to the wonderful team @ H & C for assisting me with this endeavour..... Derek emailed me this morning with all the details and my provisional serial No and even an option to not purchase!!! Then Lin emailed me and then phoned to personally organise the transfer of funds for payment. Within 5 - 10 mins of the end of phone conversation I had confirmation of Payment being approved and then received my Tracking Number and confirmation that My Unit had been dispatched and should arrive by Courier NEXT Tuesday!!! Superb Service and so easy to deal with.... All Done & Dusted within Approx 20 mins!!! Bravo Hall & Collins

Hi Peter,

I agree with Frank. For what it can do and how much it costs, the H&C Signature Echo is the best Shadows echo machine available. I have two of them from the first batch. I enjoy them immensely almost everyday.

Yes, Frank is absolutely correct you won`t be able to put your guitar down once you get it. I was lucky with the import duty, I didn`t have to pay anything I think it depends on who processes it when it arrives. Please let us know how you get on. (That is, if you manage to put your guitar down.)

Hi Adrian,

To clarify, the 2 H&C echo machines are each in a different place. So there is one available for me to use when I'm in one or the other place.

Hi Everyone Just an update on My H & C ....Checked thr Tracking and it's here in Perth and cleared by Perth Customs for Delivery Yesterday afternoon Woo Hoo Getting excited now It's still saying Delivery with be by the the end of the day Tues....But here's hoping for tomorrow!!

With a bit of luck, you may have escaped the import duties because they normally have to be paid prior to delivery.

Hi Musketeer Well Haven't had any emails or notifications or Phone calls as yet so you maybe right here's hoping anyway....Lin Sales Lady @ H & C Did say in our correspondence that they normally do the shipping details on a separate invoice for their overseas customers so hoping she remembered lol

Just got an email from Lin @ H&C Sales....Apparently the import Duty only applies if it goes over $1000 After the exchange rate was sorted on the Credit Card Payment etc it came in @$972.00 AUD so no import Duty Paid !!!! Woo hoo bring on Tues

Hi Everyone Well it's been nearly two weeks since my H & C arrived and I have to say it's the best piece of kit that I have purchased in 20 years... I absolutely love it! Charlie I have owned a fair few echo units over the years ( Still have both the Roland Re-301 and Re-501 ) and I have to say that the H & C totally lives up to and far exceeds expectations The patches are well designed and thought out.... I had the 301 and the H & C set up side by side so I could compare and I have to say it totally blew me away just how good in comparison the H & C is.... You have totally nailed it.... John RIP and yourself should be extremely proud of what you have achieved.... Play ability wise this unit rocks the Instructions are well set out and concise and programming is an absolute breeze. The years of R & D from Yourself and John has certainly paid huge dividends.... This unit is an absolute joy and pleasure to use....Thanks once again Charlie for your hard work and toil.... Cannot wait to see how it evolves from here

Hi Ted,
Thank you for your interest in the Hall & Collins Signature Echo.
I don't know the total cost including shipping but the unit should be supplied without VAT to your location, which as far as I know would be £499.17 GBP plus the shipping charge. Customs taxes and duty charges will be decided by the authorities in your area and if applicable will probably be based on the total price including the shipping charge.
The unit should be supplied with a suitable power supply for your location unless you specify otherwise. Incidentally, I thought the voltage in the USA was higher than 110 volts these days?
If you enquire via the support email [e-mail] then Derek or Lin should be able to answer your questions more specifically than I can, though I believe customs charges are beyond their control.

Thanks Charlie.can I ask, one question?As a great Shadows fan I do gigs here with a Zoom G5, and sometimes a Q20, both rigged with ***,and they are both pretty good,and ,by the way,all the Shads numbers are well received here,and I can never understand How they never made it big here,Withoot sounding cheeky,can I ask how much better your new system is? I am ,as all Shads fans do, always looking for "that sound" and I will definitely buy on your word that I am going to hear a difference.I ask, because ,being so far away from all you guys over ther,I have no chance of hearing your machine in action . I sincerely hope that my question does not offend,

Hi Ted,
The G5 (with *** patches) and the Q20 (with EFTP patches written by me and not *** which are something else entirely) are limited for echo sounds as with all units that attempt to be multi effects units. The Hall & Collins Signature Echo was designed purely for vintage and modern echo sounds and has an analogue preamp designed by me to replicate the sound of the valve preamp of an early Meazzi echo unit, specifically the Echomatic 2, which was used by Hank on many hits. The echoes also have an analogue emulation of tape saturation and overload. The wow and flutter characteristics are more accurate, and specific to the type of unit sound being replicated.

Wheels Unable to find a Shadows or Hank version, no echo on The Stringalongs version, use a fast tremolo or fast phaser or Leslie effect if available
Exodus P49
40 miles of Bad Road Unable to find a Shadows or Hank version, reverb on Duane Eddy's version so use P09, and use a medium speed tremolo effect if available.

On My God Charlie, my echo unit arrived at 3 pm today ( 3 days from the U.K....WOW) I am 74 years old,and have been playing Shadows numbers since the day Apache came out,and that is a lot of years.At 9pm,my wife pulled the plug out of the wall,and said "that is enough".I can honestly say that you have done the impossible,and my gigs here will never be the same again.This unit is ASTOUNDING.
