Hi Everyone.. I'm confused for the past two years I have used the tabs in the book..The Shadows Guitar Legends which shows E string 15.. 13.. 12 and B string 15..13..15 . then repeated ..... in Jam with Hank Marvin it shows...E string 15 then B string 18..17..15 then G string 17 back to B string 15. then repeated . Am I right in using the first set of Tabs as I don't think I want to start all over again . Thanks .....Roger .

Hi Charlie , Thanks for the reply , I did think that I was using the right Tabs but got confused when I saw the other ones , is it possible that Hank used the other way of playing in later years . Once again thank you for your always helpful views and by the way as you suggested I did get the Halls and Collins unit and not the Alesis Q20 and I must say what a good piece of kit .Thanks Charlie .......... Roger .

Hi Roger, I looked at some later videos of Hank playing it and couldn't find him playing it any differently. Try this, every time you play the sequence 15, 13, 12, pick the 12th fretted note more lightly and you should find the echo from the previous note will roll over the quieter note. I would be interested to know if it works for you. Glad to know you got the Hall & Collins unit! Regards, Charlie

hi Roger, if I were you, I wouldn't bother with tabs, just listen to the tune and better still, what we see the artist plays it and copy it, I have never touch a tab in my life, probably wouldn't know how to anyway ha ha but enjoy either way :-) Pete

I use the E string 15 then B string 18.. Not only an easier transition but a tad nicer perhaps!

Interesting I saw an interview with Brian May talking about playing Hank's stuff, he said when he watches him play I thinks to himself I don't play it in that position Matthew

Hi, Don't worry about where to play it, do your own thing and if it sounds good go with it. Look at Chet Atkins he never played a song the same way, always a change somewhere in a number. Cheers Les.
