Hi All this might sound strange coming from one who has been at it a bit but - I have two Echo units, a vintage Q2EFTP and an even vintager Zoom2000EFTP, both of which are great units IMHO but are beginning to become unreliable - the Q2 has developed a "distortion" in the signal and I cant seem to get to the bottom of it and the Z2000 has an intermittent power problem.
SO - I am thinking of a reliable modern replacement at the "budget" end of our available units as sadly the H&C and TVS are way out of reach. Of the others of which I have no knowledge apart from the alphabety-spaghetty names they give them U2, G3 etc etc, what does the Team think gives great echo sounds for not only Shads work but generally and are Value For Money.
We are away for a few days so replies might be delayed but all info would be greatly appreciated and IF there are any For Sale you could always PM me with details. (Charlie - if you think this should be posted in the Wanted section - please move. Thanks) Cheers ian

Ian, I have both a Q2 loaded with Charlies EFTP and a Zoom G3X, the G3X is as new boxed and never used. I don't use these pedals so if you are interested I am not looking to sell to make money you could give what you can afford.
if of interest you can e-mail jphatpromenade.co.uk
Regards
Jim H

Ian,
I've got a Baby Blue from Stanley FX and that gives excellent echoes but it's not very intuitive, it's rather fiddly to set. Other than that I don't think you can go far wrong with the Zoom pedals, although I think I've just read that the G3 has been superceded by a later model which won't work for ***.
I'm sure you'll get more answers than mine I hope that little bit of information can start you off.
Regards,
Len

Ian I've been a Zoom user all along, starting with the brilliant 9002 back in the 1990s through 508, G2 etc. I currently use a Zoom G3 and don't think you could go wrong choosing that. Jim

The g3x with halls echos is the best budget echo unit in my opinion. I have used one numerous times live and it sounds fantastic and works for other purposes too

I think the G3X has been discontinued and I don’t believe that ***’s echoes are suitable for it’s replacement .

Hi Ian,
I agree with Steve. I have a G3 and you can get some good sounds. I haven't got Charlie's sons echoes but I understand they are good and won't break the bank. Ifyou can get one,go for it.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Bri.
