It has three playback heads, so it's likely to be an emulation of a Roland 301...

The heads sound like they are equally spaced more like a WEM Copicat, so it cannot sound like a 301 which has the third head at around 2.5 times the head 1 to head 2 distance. Charlie

I got a Roland Clone in the form of a NUX TAPE CORE ECHO. Very good, cheap and noiseless. Excellent for 1978 - around 1995 Shads. Had it a few months now on my pedal board. I use mode 5 with feedback around 3 and mix generally between 4 and 6 with time between max and halfway for lots of tunes. Great echo pedal for prices with computer editing including drive wow and flutter and spacing of the heads. Check it out.

Very Simular to a Roland RE 201, which Iv'e had for years, Don't think its the echoes we require now for shads fans, RE201 is Obsolete in my opinion, it's ok for studio work but not for a live gig. Charlie's H&C nailed this,

The much rarer Korg Stage tape Echo was very good, it was korgs answer to Roland, I've supplied a few tapes for these over the years
I thought the Roland years with Hank both recordings and live was pretty good,
