Hello all Something different to share. Lost for nearly 50 years. I rediscovered some photos of me with my first electric guitar. Age 16 at the time. Sorry about the dustbins. Lol.. Charlie Hall identified the guitar straight away. Thanks Charlie... Anyone else got a similar photo to share? Anyone else know what make and model the guitar is?? app.box.com/s/hlkfu80ehaosmldn0x2idva5o9p7yi2lGeorge..

Baz
Can you upload the pic to "Box" then share the file and then click where it says "Copy"?
Then all you need to do is "paste" it into your reply. That's all I did.. Its the same process for posting a sound file.
Good luck
George

I have been a member of this site for some years and have not managed to put files on this site so I will try with an old photo. If I can manage it I would like to know the name of one my guitars I played in the 1960s. Its a long time ago when strings were standard 14s tape wound, I can't think of what the guitar is. Regards Carl. app.box.com/s/n7wovkqojx0jz705u8cjig1eq3695la2. I have done what has been suggested. Hope this works.

Hi Carl
As your file is a jpeg it can only be downloaded and then viewed. But I've viewed it now. I can't place the guitar but someone will know it.... Charlie lol... Where was the photo taken, what year and how old where you at the time? Just interesting facts. Mine was taken off Fleet Street in Gough Square, London. Where I worked in the press. 1968 I believe.

Hi George, I was surprised it was easy to put photo on. Don't know how to change the photo other than jpeg. I was about 19/20 about 1965/66 in changing room before going on stage. I was having a lot of overheating problems with my ac30 and this was my first night with my new Selmer amp. Often try to remember the make of the guitar wished I still had it. This one is in colour. Hi Len, I have not owned a Hagstrom. In the past I have been tying to work out how many guitars had pearl dagger headstock decals. All these members on Charlie's site I hope someone can identify it.
Carl.

Carl
You did great loading the photos and posing on this site.
Could the guitar have been a Hofner?? Anyone help Carl identify his guitar??
Any other brave souls got any pics to post?? Young guys or girls with their early guitars, post or pre pubity photos are fine lol. Just a bit of fun / a laugh but as Charlie says it's fascinating... I think so too.

Hi George, When I first found a load of old photos, I first thought it was a Hofner as I have had a couple , But the Fret board markings don't match. Over the years We have had that many guitars and amps its difficult to remember. I have Photos from 60s-70s-80s its nice to remember the groups through old photos. Carl.

Most of us use Box just for music files, and put pictures in imgbb - it's a file sharing service similar to Box but just for photos.

That might be a Harmony Guitar.

HI, Its not a Harmony. The nearest guitar I have seen is the Hofner which I bought after this guitar. There is a diamond shape on the third and seventh fret on the fret board, and the lower bout sticks out a little from the neck. It also has a similar design of the pearl dagger. The standard strings I got when I bought it new were Monopole tape wound 13/14s. I have been searching a few years and still can't find one. Regards Carl.

George, Your Vox : If its not a Hurricane its a Spitfire I Think. Seem to Remember them being called after names of war planes.
Phil, I had that guitar same time as we were dating two girls from Preston that lived about one hundred yards from each other. Although we were strangers with different groups in the 60s Carl.

Not a Spitfire either as the Spit and Huricane have many differences, i.e. Different headstock and the body contour has an offset slant to it. Carl, I was also going out with a girl from Preston, this was in 1966, I hope she wasn't one of yours Phil

My old vox guitar was a Vox Soundcaster. It was Charlie Hall who identified it.

That looks like a good strat copy the headstock looks like the Yamaha guitars my first electric guitar looked like a strat but that’s where it ended was really awful , it used to go out of tune all the time, I sold it to friend for $100 and that was a rip off to be honest haha. He since bought a $3000 Les Paul that he never plays Matthew

To keep your photo gallery going here's one from early 70s. In bigger places I used my Selmer 4 x 12 Goodman Combo bit of a beast for smaller venues This was playing with my SG copy with my Carlsbro amp. Carl. app.box.com/s/14xguwj3j66qqkfkwyokadisum0n4xi6
