SOUTH WEST SHADOWS CLUB Exeter:
Our next meeting is Sunday 29th September, starting at 1:15.
The South West Shadows Club is for those who enjoy playing or listening (you don't have to play) to The Shadows and similar genre music with some 50's/60's music and "Rock n' Roll" for good measure!
Please feel free to visit us, you will be given a warm welcome.
New members are very welcome, this includes keyboard players, drummers as well as rhythm, bass and lead guitarists. Experienced player or novice, we have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. If you have not performed in front of others before there is no pressure to play, you can sit and join in whenever you feel ready.
Members can choose to play to backing tracks, band sets or both.
We start our meetings with members playing in a band set where we mix and match the band sets on the day from members who like playing in a group. There is no pressure or formal band member structure, which enables players of mixed ability to gain experience and confidence. We follow this with members playing to backing tracks of their choice. If time permits we then have a second band set.
Club equipment:-
• Fender Amplifiers
• Hall and Collins signature echo.
• Fender bass amp.
• Ashdown acoustic guitar amp.
• Sound desk with CD, mini disc player and jacks for tablets/ipad/smart phones.
• PA, microphones.
• Just bring your guitar, bass, drumsticks or keyboard.
Our well appointed and comfortable venue is on the western outskirts of EXETER at Kennford which is near the southern end of the M5 and is on the A38. Access is from either direction. There is ample free parking and the hotel has a restaurant and bar which also provides bar snacks.
