Hi All, I've just seen a uTube demo of one of these and I'm taking a fancy to one. I find the Honeyburst particularly nice. Does anyone have any experience of these re; build quality. playability etc. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Jontie.
Yes, I like burns guitars too.
Although I don’t have any experience of this particular model, I do have a Double Six. Unlike a Stratocaster, where the strap button is situated on the outer edge of the upper horn, both of these guitars have a strap button on the back of the upper horn. This may be ok for you, but I find that this causes the guitar to hang forward a bit, just enough to prevent me from seeing what I am doing. A point to bear in mind.
Of course I could just go on a diet to lose an ounce or two so that it was not a problem!
Cheers
Mick

Hi Mick, thank you for the reply. I have a "Marvin 2004 reissue" and a "Custom Shop Legend".so I am familiar with those I'm not sure where the bison is built and wonder how the build quality compares.
Cheers.

I have a burns marquee the number is 0409032 I can’t seem to find any numbers close or much information on serial numbers only that they are unsure about the way the serial numbers were originally recorded. It is a custom colour burgandy mist it looks pink but it was such a rare colour that’s why I bought it. I have been told of 1 other one of this colour but haven’t seen any in my searches. Any help I would be most great full Thanks mick

Hi Mick, It's very nice, but quite different to the one in the Vid", in colour, pickups, switching and the inlays. I've never really been comfortable with the tremolo system on the Legend and Marvin, which is why I'm thinking of the Ultrasound with the point pivot system. Cheers John

I looked at burns for quite a while before I settled on this one . Including the bison, these pickups and the pre 2000 year was Recommended by quite a few people and they were spot on. I only upgraded the tuners to locking tuners. Which ever one you chose I will look foreword to hearing another Sound file Mick

I emailed Burns today...No longer in production...$530 on the American market, seems a steal!

Hello Jontie,
Don’t forget to take the cost of import tax and shipping into the equation.
Cheers

Hello Jontie, Don’t forget to take the cost of import tax and shipping into the equation. Cheers Mick Thanks for that Mick. I had no intention of importing one, I have come unstuck on that before. When the $ was almost 2 to the £ in the nineties, I had the smart idea of importing a USA Standard. The postman knocked on my door and asked me for £90!!!
