Hi Guys, Firstly can i say that having recently acquired a Zoom G2 and the purchase of Charlie's EFTP i am more than happy with it and find it far superior to anything i have used in the past.
I am using the Zoom with a Vox ac30 and USA 1978 Fender Stratocaster, i will be posting up some tunes once i have worked out how, however what bothers me is if i use the unit direct into the computer i will loose the sound quality that the Vox generates and therefore won't get a true representation of sound i suppose a bit like Di..ing a guitar on stage.
What advise would someone give to using some form of microphone, if so what type?
many thanks
Peter

Hi Peter, The Shure SM57 is regarded as the industry standard for miking a guitar amp. However, the mic alone isn't enough, you would need a decent mic preamp too, or a suitable sound interface to your computer that has dedicated XLR mic inputs. Regards, Charlie

Hi use the SM57 every week a very good amp mich but it appears there is more too it than first thought, i guess i will have to look at a dedicated preamp.
cheers Peter

Hello to all. i have been reading with great interest to all your comments on Hanks sound.I to over the years been trying . I have a Hank jap srat and an AC 30 but all I get is standerd amp sonds,not much twang. My question is If I got a G2 unit or something like with Charlies patches, would this give me that sound.Thanks All. from Geoff.

I have recently purchased the Zoom G2 1nU and have just installed your EFTP files. I will say that it is the best 25 quid I ever spent. Thanks Charlie you're a genius.

I got a effects with Charlie hall eftp witch is brilliant but doesn't give me the tone how do I get that? I think you need to tell us what equipment you use. Guitar, EFTP unit, amplifier etc.

Channel = Clean Drive = 9 o'clock Bass = 3 o'clock Mid = Full Treble = 12 o'clock Channel volume = 1 o'clock. Tremolo and Reverb = off .
When playing try to get quite far away from the amp. If you sit too close you don't hear the true sound and tones.
If you put a mike in front of the amp and record into your computer you may also get a better idea of your real sound.
