HI ALL , Having being allerted to the builder of this great machine ,a 54 y/old very clever man ''marcello'' from italy ,by ''stratomaster'' giving a link to his the well known auction site site where I have bought 5x mono head's for the ''univox-project'' located in the project's section here...[Thank's mate].. I ,after purchase have made contact by email to him & passed some messages ,and he has sent me photo's of his ''binson-special'' which is a ''vari-speed '' disc-type ,all valve operation with his permission to post pic's onsite .. HE has a demo of this unit on ''utube'' showing the vari-speed & variable record bias to suit the speed of disc.. very smart thinking.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqFMyOha96IA trully desireable unit indeed .. CHEERS .............& thank's to ''Marcello'' .........barry..

I'm in contact with another Italian guy selling an Echorec 2 in need of repair. He has no English, but as Spanish and Italian are both Latin derivatives, we communicate pretty well ;D
I ought to buy it and send it directly to Marco for R&R.
I have my Meazzi Echomatic to restore, and my wife is now worried that I am developing '' compulsive 60's echo-box syndrome"
She may have a valid point !!!!

HI ..JAMES ,,, One thing for sure is the disc's[drum's] are now a rare item ,as I asked marco[marcello] & he does not have any for sale .. They are available at binson [a,binson-disc] but the disc is 350.00 plus pound's UK... If you already have a meazzi james and you of course have you should try to buy that one in italy ,BUT it may cost you a nice loving gift to your wife ,Ha.Haaar.. The circuit can be rebuilt but the disc? ? I diont think-so???... Best of luck with the rebuild mate & did you obtain a head replace ment? ? CHEERS barry..

Hello Barry, re. the Meazzi, I'm still not sure if I need extra heads, or if it's just a case of repositioning the existing six heads and placing a variable speed control for the motor? It's very difficult to find out accurate information.
Again on an obscure , small adverts Italian site, I found a complete Binson Drum/wheel assembly advertised for 110 Euros.
If I had the time, I would become echobox-man or tapeworm ;D

HI JAMES ,, The variable speed motor would be a great improvement ,But the original AC motor will not do this ,,But you can use a DC type with a varable voltage reg adjusted via a POT , as marcello has done on his special .. I feel any decent sized dc motor's from a tape & or a cassette deck would suffice ,,.. ASK-marco via email for specific's.. CHEERS....barry..
