In addition to my USA 76'standard strat I have a MIM 50's Classic Player strat.
Question: The spec for the Classic strat says "Vintage style Pickups"
does anyone know if these are the same pup's as fitted on the 57 reissue and similar USA strats, as I would like to replace the Kinman FV-HMS's I fitted to my '76 strat but don't feel the need to fork out approx £129:00 for a set of Fender vintage 57/62's if I already have them on my Classic Player.

I had the mex HBM strat that said "vintage pick ups" but they were really awful and swiftly replaced with Kinmans. I now use Tonerider Vintage which are superb. Cheers Ecca

I have the '57 vintage reissue which has the '57/'62 pickups.
Now as far as I know the "Classic Series" do not have the '57/'62 pickups but the "Classic Players Series" do have them. Don't get the two confused. The "Classic Players Series" only came out two or three years ago and are only offered in two colours, Fiesta Red NOT being one of them.

1. The Kinmans are pretty quiet as expected with a very high output but I feel they have a bit of distortion, I have tried different pup hights but it doesn't make any difference, I have looked at the Toneriders and may well try these.
2. I Have a "Classic Player 50's" and you are right, I had two colour choices only, "Shoreline gold or Sunburst", but settled for Sunburst as it matches my '76 strat. So it looks like I may already have them and will probably fit toneriders.
Cheers
Mike
