Hi All Further to Charlies excellent Guitar Music Theory Thread : This is aimed primarily at our newer players but I feel that this is a good reference for all. I came across this site while doing a bit of research into the Maj 6th chord and the Min 7th chord that contain the same notes but the order and therefore emphasis is different. It's a two for the price of one chord shape once you know it. (Charlie mentions this point in his thread) for example C E G A = C 6 A C E G = A min 7 6th Chords make a great ending sound in Jazz. e.g. try this D min 7 / G7 / Cmaj7 now this D min 7 / G13 / C6 The idea is to not get hooked up on the theory and just use what sounds good. Have a look at the site and bookmark it for reference. There is some good stuff on there. Bit of advertising on the sides but nonetheless good free info for reference. www.torvund.net/guitar/index.phpAll the best George.

Thanks for that, George. Much appreciated. I find the whole theory about chord structures absolutely fascinating and I love to learn new ones.
This place is also excellent (www.justinguitar.com.) His name is Justin Sandercoe and he really knows his stuff.
