Hi Tommy and Rob,
I have tried to get in touch with Charles Fisher regarding your problems, the point trem has a lifetime warranty ,he is no longer available on any number I have,I have not spoken to him since 2009,his e-mail address is no longer in use..if you need a fulcrum block you can contact me with PM.

Hi Rob, The fix is in my old thread, the trem does not touch any part of the body, the only part that is in contact with the guitar is the fulcrum block and points, nothing can be seen from outside the trem block, the points locate just under the saddles and works on a seesaw action in use,the front goes down and the back goes up,and vis-versa.If the trem is in a locked state and not moving means that trem block is not located with the pins under the saddles.. The trem unit should be flat with the guitar body and free all round to seesaw freely....you cannot replace the unit with a strat type as the cavity would have to be modified..if on inspection you find that all this does not make sense, then yours is not a Point Tech trem by Charlie Fisher.. When you have it set up it is a dream to use,I have built 3 strat types for customers who have called on me and tried my Burns and have happily paid twice the cost of a Fender trem to have what I had and they are very happy,as of 2 weeks ago I dont have the Burns it was sold.
Cheers I hope this helps Alan

Hi Tommy, Have a look at an old thread 2009,is that your problem..
The problem with your Point Tech trem is known by Burns,I contacted Barry Gibson at Burns about it 10 years ago,and I believe he took steps to correct it by redesigning it........ I bought a pair of greenburst Marquees when they were first introduced to the market, both strung with light strings, probably 8s, after a couple of weeks playing them in on these strings I changed them to my normal stainless tapewound strings, one to 9s the other to 11s,the problem started with the one with 11s,it would not hold tuning, the trem was tipping forward. A fifth spring on the block pulled it back but it held tuning for a shorter period, the other one fitted with 9s,was then fitted with 11s,the same problem appeared, they were both dismantled and the problem was found,it was the use of the wrong choice of materials ,to correct the problem cost less than £1 in materials and 2 hours in the machine shop........... THE PROBLEM.... Is or was the fulcrum points supporting block..the points are made from heat treated carbon steel, the mating part on the bridge is made from a heat treated carbon steel, but the metal block housing the the 5mm wide pins, which point forward and slightly upwards, is only 8mm wide and made of cast zinc, held to the guitar body by thin screws, the pull from the strings and the trem block springs forces the points to elongate the the holes, in the zinc block holding them, backwards and pointing more upwards............... THE CURE............ Remake the zinc block in steel, make sure the wood it is mounted to is flat,it may not be,use slightly longer quality screws and shim from the rear of the block with metal shims to give solid contact with the guitar body..... With this modification you will also gain a big jump up in tone and sustain,I still use my Marquees and the problem has been forgoten a long time ago.... Regards...........Alan J p.s If you need a steel block,I am now retired from engineering, but have the means to make you one, post me and it should not take long to do......cheers Alan J OAKESWELL STUDIO

Hi Charlie, Just looked through the June edition,407,of Guitarist magazine.A reader in the Q&A section asks for advice on The Replicator Echo unit they reviewed in issue 404,he was advised he would need two or three units, chained,to get the correct number taps.It was advised that the Hall&Collins Signature Echo is purpose built for his needs.

Hi George and Keith, Thanks for your interest in my rack cases for 1U and 2U units,as sold on the well known auction site. These cases are made as req`d at a cost of £60, and sold by a local amp manufacturer. I am a little behind this year, due to 2 MONTHS of sub zero temps, and have to get 6 guitars finished for the London Guitar Show in October + making amp cabinets at short notice, it really is great to be retired.....The rack cases are made quite heavy ,so as to be less liable to be pulled of the amptop in use, postage cost is around £8 uk mainland......
Regards.....Alan J

Hi JB, I purchased a body/neck set by Musikraft in August this year, they do a range of ready mades at,lets call it a base price, you can add from this base whatever you wish at add cost.. I have a one piece swamp ash strat body with a nice grain pattern for clear finishing, the whitest wood I have ever seen, and a qtr sawn maple neck with ebony board, rolled edges and abelone dots.... The body is supplied unsealed, the neck shellac sealed, the body weight is 3lb,all dimensions are for standard american strat parts.........the cost £300 as supplied. When it arrived from the States, took 2 weeks,it was opened by my assistant the day after arrival, she called me out of the workshop to the office with"come and have a look at the parts that came yesterday",fearing the worst, she had unpacked the items and laid them on the reception table, what I was looking at can only be described as a work of art..... I have built 5 Strat types this year from parts by various luthiers, the Musikraft kit is from another world,I plan to keep this one, with custom shop fittings and will post pics around March 2010.................Alan J

Q2 to Q2 ? I am in the process of changing batteries on my Q2s and need to save the patches onto another Q2, the handbook instructs to use 2 midi cables so the units can talk to each other,I think mine have fell out with each other, the book method is the same as Charlies, except for the number of cables used, the receiving Q2 had a hard reboot to clear the user programs, leaving one preset program in situ..... No amount of button pushing and book reading will get the programs from one to the other, any ideas out there,am I missing something ......the donor Q2 tells me it is sending the files but they never appear on the other Q2..............Alan J oakeswell studio
