Hi All
Is anyone out there using a Fender Super Champ XD. I am interested to know what settings are best for Shads early sounds.
My dear wife bought me one for Christmas and I am using it with my Classic 50's Strat and Magicstomp.
The best sound that I can get at present seems to be with the Blackface voice #6, the treble at 1 and the base at 6. This seems to suite for "Find me a Golden Street, Peacepipe, Atlantis, Theme for young Lovers" etc.
I thought I would be using the British voices but #7 seems a bit harsh to me.
I would be interested in what other users of this amp find best for Shads tones.

Hi Tony,
Somewhere over on the Shadow Music forum, there is a good posting by Dave Robinson of the Pastmasters. The thread was all about the XD and how good it was, Dave joined in, listing his favourite settings.
It should be in the Guitars & Amps section.
Cheers Barry

i think that was the old site. but he did put some settings up that were very good the voice was on 7, i remember that bit. channel select was channel 1, treble and bass i think were no more than 3, f/x was the 12 oclock position, gain 1. i wouldnt swear by this but i know the voice and channel select are right. the rest are not far out i have the settings some where if i can find them i will put them up. but these are not far away. what dave said was that he ciuld use the amp with these settings at small pro giggs. ps sorry if thats wronge dave. peter

Thanks Chaps for your help.
I have been in touch with Dave Robinson and he has helped me out with the settings.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
