I'm looking for a set of gold pickup screws for a 57 reissue strat, anyone know where I can find them? I thought I had a set but when I came to swop the pickup covers the screws were smaller and not the countersunk type.
The screws must be gold and the Phillips countersunk roundhead type. The only ones I've found so far are at Fake58 but he wants £4.50 postage. It's not that I'm tight but that's a rip off for 8 screws weighing a few grammes.
Quite a few other companies list them but they're just round heads, not countersunk. There are also some on the well known auction site but they are not long enough.
Cheers Barry

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for the link, it was AxesRus who sent me the wrong ones.
I bought a 57 replacement kit of screws from them, their pickguard screws were fine but the pickups screws were nothing like the ones on the guitar. The strap buttons they sent were also wrong as well, much smaller than the originals.

Hi Barry, Someone on another site has suggested these screws may be suitable. Bit hard to see if they are countersunk. 20.5 x 3.2mm diam. www.wdmusic.co.uk/category/Hardware___Parts/Screws__Nuts___Washers?page=3code SPHG. I just checked gold screws supplied with a pickguard off the well known auction site. They are roundhead, not countersunk and 33mm x 2.5mm thread diam which according to WD are "suitable for Gibson Humbuckers" ! They fit the pickguard holes nicely whereas the std non plated screws supplied with the Tonerider pups are too big at 18mm x 3mm diam. However the Tonerider size fits the Demarzio 5-way switch perfectly whereas the thin gold ones don't ! Life didn't used to be this complicated ! Regards George

Hi George,
I thought buying left handed gold hardware for the 57 was difficult enough.
I never expected problems buying something simple like screws.

Hello Peter,
Thanks for the post but the pickup screws for the 57 should be countersunk, a similar head to the pickguard screws.
Cheers Barry

Most of the screws I ordered are in now, funnily enough the only ones that have not arrived were ordered from the UK. The first one is the original chrome one from the guitar, the second one is from Allparts in the US, the third Guitar Parts Resource also in the US and the last one was what I was sent from AxesRUs as part of a kit meant to be for a 57 guitar. Thanks for all the help. Cheers Barry
