Hi all, here is my version of "This is my song" using Peter Korving's excellent backing track. This is my first recording using a DAW (Mixcraft), having previously used a Tascam 4 track recorder. It isn't a patch on Pete's version but I hope I have conveyed the "feeling" of the tune. www.4shared.com/audio/NV4Or422/song.htmlDuncan.

Hi Duncan,
I enjoy your recording, I have never herd an instru. version of it before! Here in Sweden it was popular in the sixtie's, but with vocals. You have done great job with this one, and it's good that you got rid of the problems you had before. Regards Bo

Thanks Bo, glad you enjoyed it. I like to experiment with songs that are not usually reproduced as instrumentals and if I think a particular song will make a good instrumental, I will give it my best shot. I am working on another one at the moment-If you are an Elvis fan, watch this space! Regards. Duncan

Hi Duncan,
A nice sound and well played, I think you could come forward in the mix a little more with the lead guitar, particularly on the lower register section. Good to see you have sorted your noise problems by using Mixcraft, I've used it for quite a while now and find it very user friendly.
Kind regards,
Chris

Thanks Chris, I played this one with a soft touch which I thought suited the tune, but your right- I probably should have brought the guitar forward a bit. I am really getting to like Mixcraft and hopefully will use more of it's features in future recordings. Best wishes. Duncan.

Hi Duncan, I've listened to your revise file, I think its an improvement, I also think you could come forward even more between the intro and up to 1:12 Kind regards, Chris

Hi Duncan, I listened again and its an improvement. Your whole mix would benefit from more UMFF (to quote Lou) There's a free vst plug in that will help in that respect called JB Broadcast, a google search will find it for you Kind regards, Chris
