Hello Again, This is a bit different for me, I just decided to video this one very simple. Just me, a Taylor 114ce acoustic and a Digitech Live Vocal 4 for the harmonies in the chorus, if you look closely you should be able to see me stepping on the pedal to turn it on and off. It's very basic but I hope you enjoy it. Best Wishes Regards Steve B

Hello Steve I did enjoy your song , is it an original I have not heard it before ? , what do you think of the digitech harmoniser any problems with it ? , I have a TC electronic harmony G which has a problem , if I leave the harmonies on for a while during the song I get feedback in normal mode it's alright , I have been thinking of swapping it for something else . best regards Murray .

Hi Murray, Thank you for watching my video of Only You. It was originally recorded by Yazoo, Alison Moyet was the singer. The Digitech harmoniser is a nice piece of kit but it does have to be used correctly. It can feed back a bit in my room at home but at gigs its fine as I stand back from my pa speakers. My biggest problem is when I play live I sometimes forget to turn the harmoniser off before speaking on the mic which makes me sound like Darth Vader or Daft Vader as my wife calls me. The harmonies are ok as long as your guitar is in tune, you play the right chords or notes, and you sing in tune so I struggle on all of those I was under the impression that the TC electronics stuff was just as good but over all I've been happy with the Digitech. Best Wishes Regards Steve B

Hello Steve I have had the TC harmony G for about 5 years it does a good job , like I said if I leave the harmonies on during a lead break it does squeal a bit then you have to do a tap dance during your lead break to turn off the harmonies , I have been looking at the digitech live 4 on Utube and comparing the TC with it also on Utube , the digitech seems to have a more realistic sound , I believe the digitech has pitch correction and a humaniser where you can offset the harmony voices and also more harmony voices than the TC , I might give the digitech 4 or 5 a go 1 more pedal added to the million I already have won't make much difference . best regards Murray.

Hi Marray, Mine is the live vocal 4 and for right it does have pitch correction but I find it difficult to use as the machine can never know which way to correct pitch if you know what I mean so I tend not to use it. However i do use EQ, compressor, reverb, sometimes echo and obviously harmony. The harmony can sound very natural if you don't set it too loud in relation to the lead vocal. It is one of those things that takes some getting used to. Do you use echo or reverb on yours? this can also cause a bit of feedback if you use too much especially if the harmonies are turned on. My unit is about 3 years old so they may have moved on a bit now. Best Wishes Regards Steve B

Hi Steve,
Very nice version of this song!Really good sound in your Taylor, and the harmonies created by the Vocalist sounds impressive! I have a TC Helicon XT, that I use when I play with my hobby band, which I'm pleased with, but your Vocalist seems to sound a bit better, very natural! Regards Bo

Hello Steve Yes I use echo sparingly I did use it from the TC but I now use it from the allen heath mixer , I also use neumann KM105 condenser mic's with phantom power from the TC which tends to feed back easily , phantom power from the mixer won't work through the TC for some reason , and I also run a 1800 watt PA which consists of 2x12 inch RCF powered speakers 2xHK lucas bass bins and 4x HK satellite speakers , I have to keep a lid on the PA and be careful where I place the mic's but it sounds really good , I still might try the digitech vocalist , seems to be more natural . best regards Murray .
