Hi I'm posting this in the For All section because I think I've gone over my quota this week in the excitement of getting my new VOX AC15C1. Here's a quick recording of 'Atlantis' from today www.youtube.com/watch?v=drJ4JkqoBm8The video picture is much smaller than usual as I wanted to try to post it with better sound and my ADSL connection is so slow it takes forever to upload to YouTube. This was recorded using Charlie's EFTP Atlantis patch on the Zoom G2.1Nu. Although the recording mightn't show it, I am very very impressed with the Atlantis sound now I have a better amp. It's been one tune where I could never get a good sound with my previous amps and it really sounds great now on both guitars which is all due to Charlie. The new amp seems to bring out the patch settings more or something although I know this is a bit high in treble as I'm still playing around with top boost settings. Of course there are the usual glitches in my playing but it is hopefully better than last time I recorded it Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, a great cover. Very impressed with the muted sections, and it sounds like you are finding your way round the AC15. Best wishes, Graham

Hi Rosemary,
Well played! I can easily see/hear how much you have improved over the few months since I have been a member, and you seem more relaxed in your playing. I can only hope too emulate your achievements in the same amount of time. The sound of you new amp is much better than your last one,(Excellent choice ).
Ims the novice!

Hi Graham, Ims and Murray Thanks for listening. Having a good sound makes us play better I think. A short time ago I was practising on the little practice amp without any echoes and felt I played better through the new amp yesterday but surprisingly getting annoyed about being interrupted by a telemarketing call made me play better afterwards! Ims: I'm sure you'll make very good progress. Whenever I think my progress is too slow I try to think about what I can do now that I couldn't a few months ago and that helps boost the confidence. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Adrian and JR Thanks for listening and glad you like the sound. I love the new amp and it's a big step up from my previous amps. By the way today I had the opportunity for the first time in my life to play "Atlantis' and a few other tunes with fantastic rhythm and bass players and keyboard drums and we might have real drummers in future too. It's very exciting news for us as we're only a new club and up until now we've only had backing tracks to play along to. Adrian, I know Perth is a long way from here but if you're ever in Brisbane you'd be welcome to visit us www.brisbaneshadowsplayers.com/Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, Your playing is definitely improving as I'm sure all of the members here would agree. The new amp is sounding good. Back in my playing days I used to use the ac30 twin, lovely amp but very heavy when you had to carry it upstairs.Vox have always made good amps but having said that one of the best amps I ever owned was a Selmer fantastic tone but it was very unreliable and used to break down every couple of weeks or so.There is one thing I would like to know does your camcorder have the facility for plugging in another mic.I say this because if you could mic. the amp and use a sheet to cover it up you would overcome the acoustics of the room because at the moment the sound is bouncing off the ceiling ,walls etc.I think if you could improve the acoustics the amp would sound even better. This has always been a problem with live recording.Good luck with your new club you cant beat playing live and who knows in the near future we could see you gigging, anything's possible. kind regards David

Hi David Thanks. I can't even lift the AC15 so couldn't imagine being able to even move the bigger amps I think the video camera only has a line in and line out and the webcam doesn't have any options like that so I'd probably have to use an audio interface. When my playing improves I'll look into that - maybe in another year Best wishes Rosemary

hello rosemary, I do have the AC15C1 myself, its very good, just put the master volume on 50%, then you can use the normal channel f.i. starting with 30%, the cutknob on 25% Echo: just buy a magic stomp with the eftp from charlie, its great for shadows. more tips from me, just mail me, mail to: hanktonio@hotmail.com cheers, shadowtonio

Hi Rosemary
Glad you are enjoying your AC15. You will find it adds a dimension to your playing.
Like JR I lived very near the Jennings factory on Dartford Heath and was lucky enough to spend a few weeks there as part on an apprentice exchange between Jennings and my employers. This back in the mid 60s.
I always wanted an AC30 - it took me 40 odd years to get one!!
Regards

Hi Ade and Shadowtonio Thanks for your comments. I'd forgotten about this video and think I've improved the settings a bit since then so it was interesting to look back on. Ade: That's great you were able to finally buy your AC30 after all that time. It seems a wonderful amp though a bit more expensive and unfortunately wouldn't fit in this room. We've already had to add industrial type shelving in here to fit everything in. I think this amp will have to do me now but I'm very happy with it Shadowtonio: Thanks for those tips. Since hearing the Magicstomp I think it gets better results than the Zoom but unfortunately they seem to be very difficult to buy and also being in Australia I'm not sure about the power supply as we have higher voltage. I'll probably now wait to see how Charlie's and John's new echo unit progresses before upgrading the echoes. Thanks again Best wishes Rosemary

Well done Rosemary, and how I kick myself now, I used to own an AC30 back in the year before the old king died, and like a twit I got rid of it. I'm using a Fender Deluxe Vintage Modified at present, but I'm seriously thinking of getting the Vox AC15, its all down to what sort of a deal I can get on the almost brand new Fender. Hows the galloping in Apache, are you getting there with it?. Regards, Bob.

Hi Bob I hope it all works out and you can get your Vox again. Luckily I was able to trade in my old amp and get a little off the cost of the AC15 but the amp was already genuinely discounted compared to other stores I'd checked so the trade in wasn't much. The Apache gallop is still a struggle. I can play it pretty well on the acoustic guitar but not on the Strats??? I think I need to use more muting for it to work. Thanks Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, I`m glad to see that you`re still enjoying the AC15 and why wouldn`t you be.
It took me a bit longer than I expected but I have finally got mine. Recently, one of the local music shops had a special on the AC30 and they were advertised at the same price as the AC15 so I thought why not and I`m a bit like yourself, I love the smell of a new amp.
What a difference this amp makes. It sounds absolutely superb. I`ve got the Zoom G9.2tt pedal (which I`m still trying to figure out) with Charlie`s EFTP patches installed and what a difference from my previous solid state amp, there`s just no comparison.
I`m not game enough to post a video of myself just yet but when I do feel more confident and get a bit better, I`ll do it just to get some feedback.
Anyway, back to the AC30, I`m really enjoying it. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Cheers
Adrian
