I recently purchsed a new Standard Strat MIM to replace my Squier Affinity. Have been using heavy (12-52) strings with signal through my G9 with Charlie's EFTP into my Vox VT 40+ amp. Not too happy with the sound of the pickups on the Strat. Have read some good reports on the Ironstone "Gold pups, and would welcome opinions on whether this would be a recommended upgrade. I Have changed the strings, but in comparison to my old Affinity, result on the ceramic pups is disappointing.

I didn't mention in the previous post that I am a pensioner on a tight budget, hence my choice of possible pichups. Any alternative suggestions would be warmly received.

Pickups fitted, and guitar set up complete. You guys were right. Big difference, and worth every penny. Thanks to everyone for their help and advice.
