Fellow enthusiasts, This is my first attempt at recording. It would not have gotten this far if Charlie had not shared his patches with us enthusiasts. A big thanks to you Charlie. I also thank Göran Tångring for making so many excellent backing tracks available to all of us through his web site. Your comments would be highly appreciated. Hi Fouad I really enjoyed your Cavatina and Transit of Venus video. You have a great sound and played very well but I thought the volume was just a little low compared to other videos I've been listening to tonight. Looking forward to hearing more of your recordings as this one was excellent! Best wishes Rosemary

Hello Fouad I was just getting into your rendition and then it finished only 52 seconds , but what I heard sounded very nice , and recognising Charlie for providing us enthusiasts with echo's to express ourselves through music was very thoughtful , I take my hat off to you and of course to Charlie too , best regards Murray.

Hello Rosemary, Murray, and Pippo, Many thanks for taking the time out of your lives to watch my video and for the effort you made to comment. I profoundly appreciate it. Rosemary, Pippo, Yes the volume is low on the video and it could not be helped at that time due to my lack of experience with recording and the urgency to upload the video while the transit of Venus is still a burning issue. Murray, I am sorry to have disappointed you with premature ending, but I had originally recorded only for the soundtrack of the video. Especially for you, and of course for the rest of the fellow enthusiasts, I am uploading an mp3 file of the full rendition. I have re-recorded the entire piece in Audacity beta and the volume issue has been helped somewhat by that. The link: www.4shared.com/mp3/1EtPsTE-/Cavatina_by_Fouad.htmlI hope you all like it and of course I look forward to comments from you and other members. Best regards to all, Fouad

Hi fouad, Wonderful! Played with lovely touch and feeling. I wish I could master the ability to play those occasional notes that are slightly off beat but are so important to adding expression to our playing. Pete Korving is the master in this respect but you come pretty close I was really impressed with your transit images. Clearly you are a man of many talents. However, wasn't it a bit risky capturing those images without a proper solar filter? What if there had been an unexpected break in the cloud cover? Did you project the image? Weather was lousy here in Scotland - couldn't see the sun never mind the Venus transit Well done! Regards, Mike

Hello Mike, You are indeed very generous with your comments and your encouragement too I thought long and hard about what and how to advise you about the offbeat notes, stresses and accents. There are no hard and fast rules. It just comes naturally when you try to feel the mood of the tune and the composition. That's it I think. Can't think of anything else. I thank you also for appreciating the transit video. I never looked at the Sun while photographing. Only the CCD of the digital camera was exposed to Sunlight. I could monitor the image on the computer display. Although I do have the Baader AstoSolar filter for my telescope but clouds were too thick for the filters to work. In my attempt to capture the rare-opportune-breaks in the clouds, I ended up capturing 1850 still images. Most of those were under- or over-exposed and useless. What you see in the video is result of quite a laborious exercise. Too bad you couldn't get a sighting. Although the live experience cannot be replaced by anything else. I hope, amongst many other excellent ones, this video can offer some consolation. Best wishes, Fouad.
