Hi Charlie - very well done to all involved with the design - I was a bit worried when I heard it was just a foot operated pedal, but seeing it now with the potentiometer controls being recessed and therefore not "moveable or crushable " with your foot seems a really good design which will suit those who use it for live gigs as well as people like me who use it in studio environment. Looking forward to getting my hands (and foot) on it. Cheers Phil

That certainly is a great looking pedal! I love the design, the color combination and the sensible layout. It's obvious that a lot of thought went into this unit and that can only auger well for what's going on inside. Well done to all who had a helping hand with this amazing project. Best wishes to all concerned!

Thanks all who have commented on the photo. When I look at the finished product now, I am reminded of the journey that began 5 years ago, and all that has taken place along the way. There have been many challenges that we faced, and I am proud to say we were able to meet them all. Regarding the appearance of the unit, I am also reminded that Charlie and I had the help of another member of this site, namely David Mitchell. David worked with us to engineer the mechanical aspects of the case design, and produced the cad drawings for the metalwork and the silk screen artwork. He also liaised with the manufacturer to ensure the circuit board and everything else fitted together. I would personally like to thank David for his valuable contributions.

Great to see it at last and well done to Charlie and John for bringing it to fruition. It looks robust and the interface is nice and straightforward with a great clear display. I can see the Magicstomp has at least influenced the design a little and I am happy for it to be a floor pedal rather than a rack unit. I look forward to ownership in a little time and the forthcoming website with details.
For Shadows players this will be a top unit to own I suspect.

Hi fab1, Some patches do have tune names but many patches are used for more than one tune, so you can assemble a set list of patches into the User Bank in any order you like and rename the patches if you want. Regards, Charlie

Hi Gabor, Thank you. I have added your details to my list with a note that you definitely want a unit from the first batch. I will email everyone on the list fairly soon, and for those who want a unit, the manufacturer will then email with details of how to order a unit. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
just picked up this thread and hey the echo unit does look the part and I'm pleased to see it is not black, silver or garish but as some describe as a classy colour!
Just one question springs to mind though as I don't recall it being discussed previously, is the display back lit when switched on or flicking through the patches?
Well how does it feel now the 11th hour and 59th minute has arrived, relief or sadness it is all over, bar the actual delivery to all us very eager customers?
So the obvious question now, what next Charlie, not retirement surely?
Sincerest regards to you and all involved in bringing this to actual fruition, John

Hi John, Thanks. The display is backlit all the time the unit is powered up. There is still some work to be done by me. I have to send over 300 emails later this week. Obviously I won't be able to personalise them too much but I will try. I am also trying to sort out which power supplies are needed for various countries and where to purchase them from. When my work on this project is more or less done I will be learning to play some more tunes for demos. I am not planning to retire at all but some more spare time will be nice. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
thanks for that and I can appreciate the deed for you is not yet fully done!
It will be interesting to see what comes from the undoubted exposure this clever little box of tricks will get within the relevant media journals in the forthcoming months but in the meantime I eagerly await the relevant notifications.
Regards, John
