Hi Charlie, thanks for the email with info and link to web site. I downloaded the instruction booklet and had a quick read through. Everything seems simple enough to operate with the instructions provided. The editing facility looks fun! I know we are all looking forward to hearing more samples from you as well as sampling the patches ourselves. Well done to you and John with the project and I wish you every success! I really think that this thread should be put up by you and I would be happy if you delete it and repost. Regards, Jim. Web Site

Hi Jim, Thanks for your kind comments! The editing procedures are a lot easier than they appear in print, as is the case with most things. John designed all of the editing routines. I am very happy you have started this thread so I don't really want to delete it. It would have seemed more contrived if I had started it myself. I should be getting round to recording some more demo tracks quite soon. Regards, Charlie

Hi Tuffty, Yes, the same thing happens to me. Thanks for pointing it out. I don't know why it is happening though, because if I type exactly the same thing in the Firefox address bar, with or without the www., it works! I'm afraid someone else will have to help me with this. For those who want to try it from here, this is the link: www.hallandcollins.comRegards, Charlie Edit: Having just tried it, it works from here! So can anyone tell me why exactly the same thing won't work from an email message, please?

Hi Charlie I do remember that in the past...if the default browser would be IE..I could not execute the link. Anyway, I read something about it somewhere..Your link works for me under Google Chrome. Others could perhaps try this trick and see how it works: It has to do with protocols in Windows 7, something different from XP. In order to open links in e-mails, etc., when Firefox or browsers other than the default browser, Internet Explorer), you must, in addition to selecting Firefox as your default browser, also change your Windows 7 'program protocols'. This is accomplished by going to "Control Panel", select "Programs", select "Default Programs" and select "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program". When the list of file extensions appears scroll to the end of the list to "Protocols" and change the FTP, HTTP and HTTPS protocols from Internet Explorer to Firefox or what ever browser you are using or want. You may also change the default programs for the other protocols also if you want. I hope this helps Sheendigs

Hi Jim, Thanks for starting the thread. Re the editing features, as Charlie mentioned it is easier to do than describe in print. Rest assured that whatever buttons are pushed, it's impossible to change the Preset patches in any way, so no damage can be done. I am also happy to help anyone having problems. We may create an FAQ on editing as well. Cheers, John

Hi Charlie and John,
Received the email (thanks!) although found it in the Bulk Mail folder of my iPad Air Mail client rather than the Inbox. Had me worried there for a moment!
I encountered the same problem with the embedded link. When I copy and paste the link into Notes it appears as:
x-apple-msg-load://E25127D1-1A2F-4427-A8D2-5FD6E0FDE33A/
Really no idea why that should be happening. Anyway, the link in your post, Charlie, works perfectly and I have downloaded the Owners Instructions.
This really is an exciting and historic time for us all.
My heartiest congratulations to you both!
Best regards, Mike

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments, and to those who have suggested reasons why the link might not work. However, I use Windows XP SP3 and Firefox, so I don't think I will be able to resolve the non working link. At least the link here does work! Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie
It's possible that if you sent it out as a "bulk" mailing it is being identified as potential adware/malware and triggering filters regarding the link, if so the way to get around this is to use a personal Emailer which sends individual messages via a database.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Gary

Hi Gary, I am not advanced enough with computers to do other than send emails one at a time! In any case I somewhat customised each one.
Hi Didier, That is even more bizzare then! If my system won't work with the link and yours does, then there appears to be no answer.
Regards, Charlie

Hello Charlie. Can you clarify one point for me, do we still have to fill in the order form on the site information to the manufacturer, even if we have ordered one from the first batch with yourself, or do we wait for the manufacturer to contact us via e.mail?
Regards. Tuffty.

Hi Tuffty
the manufacturer will be contacting you in the next few days with more details, including the allocation of serial number(s) and how to place a firm order. Because the manufacturer has already allocated serial numbers to known prospective customers, you should wait for them to contact you rather than ordering via the website, otherwise you may end up with a higher serial numbered unit. This may or may not concern you, of course. From this point on, all orders will be handled by the manufacturer but I will always be pleased to refer any enquiries and comments to them.
Regards, John.

Hi Jim, Thank you for adding the link. It will be very useful.
Hi Tuffty, The manufacturer will contact you and then you can go from there. You do not need to fill in the form unless they ask you to (I'm not sure exactly how the order procedure will work at this time).
Regards, Charlie

No email yet Charlie I take it you have many to do one at a time. Great to see the site and the launch going ahead. Good look with this venture which looks well supported by site members.

Hi Roger, I sent an email to you last night. I used the gmail email address that is in your member profile. To make sure, could you please PM me your latest email address, and if it still fails, I can then copy/paste the message in answer to your PM so you will receive it one way or the other. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
My post above was incomplete. I meant to add that I have not received an email from you yet. However, because of my eagerness to acquire the unit ASAP, I filled out a contact form and submitted it. I also emailed you.

Hi Charlie, Yes I can access the whole site without the need to log in. Like you I'm puzzled as why there is a log in button. Anyway ! Glad to hear the Hall and collins Echo Pedal is in production. And like everyone else, I'm looking forward to owning one.
