Hi Charlie,
I received an email from Electromech which includes the serial numbers of my units. I gave all the info that they requested and will be paying for them with a credit card. I don't foresee any problem as I've given my credit card info over the telephone many times. There have been times when my credit card was used without my knowledge by others. The credit card company reversed the charges without a problem and they sent me a new card to use.
Regards, Alan

Dealing with reputable companies is the name of the game.
I don't have a Credit Card nor do I want one,anything I want I pay cash for.
I'm sure there will be no problems once the initial teething troubles have been sorted out.
Charlie would not be involved with them if they were not reputable.

Hi Guys Just a quick insight about credit card info. I have resolved the problem - I use a Prepaid Credit card! I can load it with whatever value I need for a particular purchase. Then if someone tries to use it..the value after my purchase is zero! Never had a problem Sheendigs

Hi Rob, Very good!
Hi Alan, You're absolutely right that I wouldn't have anything to do with anything I thought could be a problem later on. You only have to see how I look for trouble here on this site before it happens to get an idea of how I work!

I received the email giving me my serial number and filled out the form with my address and phone number, but nothing mentioned about payment. hope it's not just a phone call as i'm not home all the time. Sending me there phone number via an email stating price etc would be much better. this way they would not relocate my serial number to someone else. I could then send them the funds with my credit card. Scott

Hi Scott, I believe they are re-thinking the idea of phoning customers in other countries. Regards, Charlie

It says on my email that I can pay by Bank Transfer or by Paypal as well as credit card. However, they charge an extra £20 for using Paypal.

Morning all.
With regards to overseas customers, we are very experienced in dealing with overerseas customers (some 40% of our business is overseas). We will be happy to call you and will be sensible about your local time and only call you between 8am and 8pm.
Sheendigs: Although Paypal do not charge to purchase through them they most certainly charge to sell through them.

Hi Graham,
Ask yourself, would I have preferred the price quote to have been £619.00 + delivery? Would a 5% surcharge really have made a difference to my decision to proceed? I suspect not. As has been stated, PayPal charge the Seller and I think we all know that it's likely that many Sellers will factor in this expense to the cost by hiding/passing it on to the customer. Perhaps large outfits like Amazon have special arrangements with PayPal since their annual product turnover is enormous. However the same is unlikely to apply to smaller business concerns like Electromech Ltd. and I applaud them for being upfront with us about this issue.
Quite honestly, way back then I believed the price of the HCSE might have been nearer £700.00 yet I was still determined to get my hands on one for all the reasons that have been stated. It's not very often that such opportunities come our way. We need to grab them while we can before it is too late.....of course, I'm thinking more about my age and ability to play/learn than the longevity of the product!
Regards, Mike

Its all horses for courses, those in non eu countries get them cheaper with no vat. Personally I think some of the comments on this thread must make Charlie and the manufacturers a little bemused. At the end of the day if your not happy with what's on offer you don't purchase.

Hi Steve Just to let you know that even we do not pay VAT in England, We do get taxed by our own vat and customs when the product enters Canada! Sheendigs

Hi Steve, Just to bring you up to date re-vat. I live in Canada and should I purchase a unit I now have to pay import duties and brokerage fees. These fees will equal or perhaps be more then the 20% savings on the vat. My point being that in the end we all pay about the same price. Cheers Gus.

Hi both
Thanks for the information I wasn't aware of. I wasn't using the vat as a purpose it was just overall that if you want the unit and there are some things extra that you need to pay to do things a certain way then you need to pay them to get a unit. I think some of the comments on here are very harsh towards Charlie and the manufacturers, a civilised email with a query on would be sufficient and at the end of the day if there is something your not happy about then you don't buy one.

My order is placed with them and they replied to say I would be contacted in about a week to arrange delivery and payment. I requested they use a password and my serial number which poses no problems for them.
I look forward to it !

Hi y'all, My experience is similar to that of Roger Bayliss. That is to say perfectly OK. Communication via email with Derek at Electromech has quickly established that they will contact me next week for payment, and to inform me of the delivery schedule. Very simple; very straightforward; i use this system quite a bit:- - - e.g. When the Coal Merchant phones me, in a couple months, with a summer discount offer on their 'black rocks', I'll order with my credit card there and then, on the phone call that they initiated. No worries! It will happen. The system for both coal and music machine will be the standard Cardholder Not Present credit card routine. One is thus covered by the credit card company in case of problems. It appears that Elctromech don't normally deal direct with retail customers, but their Golf supplies company, 'Golfstream' does, hence that little quirk in the information. Thus one's Hall Collins Signature Echo Unit will come from a golf club company! They must have heard me playing and reckon I use a nine iron to pluck the strings! Surely I'm not that bad? Hey! Let's all stop wittering and get anticipating! Milko

Well at least 'the boss' will not be quite so surprised if she sees a statement with an amount going to a golf company, assuming her beloved plays the sport. Perhaps easier to explain than the echo unit . . . Have paid for mine today over the phone and because I'm away for a week they've arranged for it to arrive upon my return on the 5th. Can't wait to get home again to play with my new toy . . . er golf clubs . . . er . . .

I am sat reading these comments about PayPal ,credit card etc and feel a bit bemused the asking price is what it is and a good one at that now you either want a unit or you don't I am sure you can figure out how to pay for it be it PayPal or over the phone if it's a credit card your covered so I don't understand why we are getting side tracked from the unit it's here it's ready lets get back to being excited about that please.

Gentlemen. If your card is defrauded over the phone and comes from a good bank it ill be covered. That said, the fact that you were informed in advance about the company contacting you and the fact that Charlie has set it up should be more than enough for you to trust the transaction!!
