Hi it's Gary from The Runaways. Just thought I would give my view on the Hall & Collins echo unit.
Firstly I would like to thank Charlie for actually coming down to my house to sort out some settings for me, after which along with another guitarist we did an A B test on the unit and the Meazzi, running through a Vox AC30 with an EF86 channel. Neither of us could believe the results, comparing the dry/through sound on the H & C, this had a bit more mid range to the sound than the Meazzi had which I thought in some ways was an improvement.
As for the echo sounds, it was almost identical to the Meazzi with a few tweeks to the feed back levels etc.
I have since tried it on a gig last night and it sounded absolutely fantastic. The wow/flutter was even more prominent in a live performance and the echos were just as big and strong as the Meazzi.
I could never have believed that a modern day unit could ever create the sound and quality of the Meazzi unit.
So once again a big thank you to Hall & Collins for creating this wonderful unit.
