Hi there All, Greetings from New Zealand, recently I was listening to SACHA and wondered about the sound Hank obtained on the electric guitar section? I know he has used a Dunlop volume pedal on some numbers, but was there a wah wah with a touch of overdrive or perhaps even a Leslie speaker cabinet? I have also watched the live version on You Tube and there was no pedal in sight. Would members care to comment as this would be much appreciated. Incidentally, we went to see Hank and Gypsy Jazz in Hamilton NZ in 2013 and were fortunate enough to meet and have a photo taken with him after the show. He is such a gentleman and a nice person and a great night was had by all. Regards ------- ? Wrangler.

Hi Wrangler,
It sounds like he's using overdrive and also a Leslie, I think the Leslie sound is un-mistakable.

Hi there Phil, thanks for that info, it pretty much was my thinking. Leslie was IN back then and used with more than the Hammond organ. I recently purchased a used Magicstomp with EFTP so perhaps there is a patch that might work. Cheers. --- Trevor. aka Wrangler

Hi Trevor, Hank probably used the same Leslie as the keyboard player on that track. I have a Leslie with my Hammond B3 Plugin, the spin speed can be selected, also the brake, different cabinets and mic distances, overdrive and so on and on and on I also have Leslie's on two of my outboards. Phil

Hi there Phil, I must comment on your lovely setup via the photo, it sure is a nice studio. Is it used commercially? And if so what software are you using? I have a small setup here in a room downstairs and use Cakewalk Sonar in fact I have used Cakewalk in various forms for the last 10 years, just kept upgrading. Some of my Plugins are Native Instruments -- Guitar Rig 5, Guitar Combos, various reverbs etc which reside in Sonar. Recently, I purchased the Cakewalk Hammond B3 and Leslie plugin but as yet have not got it working, as will not open in Win10, and may need another driver. Sonar has Session Drummer 3 Synth which is a great if not tricky tool to use but very comprehensive drum sounds and am slowly getting a handle on it. Cheers ---- Trevor.
PS : Oops! Sorry Phil, did not see your equipment list initially.

Hi Trevor, I don't use my studio commercially, but now and again I get some friends in. I spend quite a lot of time in it, sometimes a little too much, according to my wife It looks like you are getting a bunch of good gear together, hope that B3 is working soon, including the Leslie Phil
