Hi Bernie, what a great find. I know Kim from his earlier releases in the nineties "Guitars Get Wet" and "Surfin' Guitar" and he's a great guitar player. Do you know if his new album "The Meazzi Mysteries" will be for sale outside of Australia? Seems like the Hall and Collins is conquering the world. Regards, Robin

Hi Bernie (and Charlie and John), A very good find.
Kim, like Martin Cilia, is also a well known and respected Australian guitarist. Both appeared regularly at the annual Australian "Shadoz" event before it was discontinued.
Kim's Shadows interpretations are anything but conventional, so it's quite interesting to see him so soundly endorsing the H&C which will certainly get use well beyond the normal Hank echos !
He also is a very nice and approachable man and I'm sure John would find it rewarding to contact him.
Regards George

Kim had contacted Charlie and I earlier, and we did know he was working on a new album. We are delighted he chose to use the Hall & Collins unit for the echoes, and even just the unit's preamp on one track. This is the first time I have seen the promo video for the album, and I have to say I think Kim has done a very professional job. I think it clearly demonstrates that the unit is quite versatile - something Charlie and I tried to achieve from the early planning stages. Kim's album takes a fresh approach to a couple of Shadows standards, which may not appeal to purists, but his playing skill and technique are quite remarkable. He also gets some great guitar tone! On the album, there is a track called "West of Eastwood" which is my favourite - kind of a haunting "western" theme in a minor key . It's not on the video, unfortunately! I'll find out how Kim is distributing the album. Regards to all, John

Great video and a really nice demo of the echo.
I like the way the Shads tunes are given the Kim treatment and i would also like to know if the H&C Album will be available outside Australia.
I guess Kim could make it available as a download off his website.
Hopefully John Collins will have some info soon.
Alan

Wow, This guy shows what the "Hall and Collins" is capable of, and he's also a uniquely talented player.
Good one Bernie.

Have just received a copy of Kim Humphreys “Meazzi Mysteries” album, after playing a couple of times I can highly recommend it, just fantastic. Kim pays tribute to not only the Shadows but to a number of the Australian bands of the 60’s and on all the tunes he has put his own slant on them and not like some tribute albums which are mere copies of the original tunes. The highlight for me was his rendition of “The Cry Of The Wild Goose” which was originally recorded by Laurie Arthur of the Melbourne band “THE STRANGERS” (yes the band that John Farrar replaced Laurie Arthur in 1964). One of Kim’s earlier CD’s “Surfin’ Guitars” is another great album recorded in 1992. Geoff
