Hi Charlie and All This is basically a question to Charlie about Fender amp settings. If anyone else has comments they are most welcome to chime in though. Tonight, I discovered the following article: www.custom-sounds.com/epages/Gagar.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/CustomSounds/Categories/articles/fenderampIn view of the function of your Cutting Edge, do you think that these settings might be appropriate for a Shadows sound with Fender amps. I know most of the people here use Vox amps but I don't really intend changing my amps any time soon. They serve me well in many ways. I should have the Cutting Edge shortly but in the meantime I would be interested in your comments on this. Regards Len

Hi Len, I have never been able to get a good sound out of any Fender amp I have used with the treble on 6 unless the bright switch is off. I don't think the magic 6 will work for Shadows sounds. The treble control seems to work best at around 3 for this kind of sound. Bass should be set low, maybe around 2 or 3, unless the Cutting Edge or Gemini III is used when the bass can be set much higher. Middle probably at around 6. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie
Thanks for that. I have never liked the sound of the Vibrasonic Fender amp with the bright switch on at all though I know a lot of people say you should use it. It just sounds a little "tinny" I think.
I will give that Magic setting a try when I can, just to see for myself. I may also try the treble at a lower setting with the bright switch on just to see what that sounds like. My arm seems to be on the mend and I might be able to play again soon.
Regards Len

Hi all. It's about time I threw in a real poser for the tech minded. I own a Fender Pro 185 1992 model which has more grunt than a pen of pigs and more do dads to fool around with than a space shuttle. "if" there any out there that know the functions of this amp may I beg on your kindness and wisdom that you may help me with the correct settings. Amanda, put on your thinking cap for me or anyone else that has come in contact with this model amp who can help me. At this time due to spending up big for a trip overseas I cannot afford a Vox AC30 TB Regards John
