Wonder if any one can give some advice. I am trying to duplicate the Shadows sound and not sure what I still need to do. I have a 2012 American standard Strat (USA). I replaced the Pick ups with The Kinman 54 V3 Impersonator. I have a Zoom G3x with Charlie Hall EFTP. I am running this thru my mixer to pc for recording. I just don't know my sound is so differen the the recording I hear on you tubes or other peoples recording. here is a quick recording I made and though I could get your input or suggestions. Thanks soundcloud.com/turboed69/apache-1

I am sure there will be much better qualified than me answering your question but in my opinion you need more treble and middle tone to your sound. I assume that you are using your neck pickup.
You might try investing in a AC tone unit (not expensive) which will simulate a Vox ac30 sound. regards Roger

Thanks for your input. I am thinking of buying a new Vox amp but not sure which one I need. I do no stage performances, just play for my self. The recording is direct from my Zoom G3x (EFTP Setting E1) to my pc audio interface. I used the Bridge pickup. Tone switch was on 10. I was thinking about a Tech21 Character series Liverpool pedal Would I put this befor my G3x or after in the chain? Thanks Ed

Try the Joyo ACTone which is a Liverpool clone. Save yourself lots of money. It delivers the Vox AC30 tones. Note - Also sold under Harley-Benton brand tag by Thomann. It should go after your pedals and echo BUT I get better results with it after pedals and BEFORE Echo. Go figure! Try both ways.
