Hi folks just wondering if anyone has used the Hall and Collins unit with a Boss Katana amp?
I'm looking for ballpark setting to compliment the sound. Ie the boss katana has reverb and is a great amp for setting tones up etc.
I love the early years sound and is mainly what I'm playing so any help setting wise gratefully received.
Paul

Hi Paul
I do! A lot of my video files are katana and hall and Collins echo.
I tend to use clean channel with bass treble and mid at half to start and then amend to taste.

Hi Paul
Yes I use the reverb about a 1/3 just to give some atmosphere to the sound

Hello all, there is a Boss Katana Head 100W and I consider to buy one for home practicing and recording, because of the weight and the size. It has also USB en line out for recording and headphone. I have two Vox cabs: one with Celestion greenbacks and one with Alnico blues. Would this combination: Katana Head and a Vox cab give also a good Shadows sound for live sound. I'v have a Hall&Collins Echo, a YMS and a Alsesis Q2 with EFTP. Can someone give some good advice about this amp and the possibilities? Thanks for answering. Janus from Belgium.

Hello Janus, The amp combo does not have an extension speaker jack but the head version does have it. I found more information here: www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=20361.0It seems that the sound could be very good with a suitable speaker cabinet connected. Regards, Charlie

I use a Boss Katana 100 head through a Vox 2x12 loaded with green backs and along with the Hall and Collins it gives me a great sound with my band. We are off to Holland tommorow and ill have my Katana with me if anyone at Tilburg wants to try it out

HI Steve, As the Katana head is 100 watts and the 2x12 Greenbacks are 25 watts each which is 50 watts is there a chance of damage or does the power control reduce the amp to 50 watts. I thought that you should use the correct speaker load of 100 watts at all power settings. Regards Carl

Hi All I have watched the Kurt Froburg video and the sound is really very good. I do wonder though if I bought the Katana 100 watt head how easy would it be for me to achieve the same sound.
I have watched many videos like Kurts only to find out later that there was other equipment used.
Has anyone had the same sound as Kurt?
Alan

I was thinking of changing the speakers however to be honest I have never needed more volume for a variety of gigs I have done with it

Thanks, I see now the normal 100 watts is at 8 ohms. When you stated Vox 2x12 I should have realised you are running at 16 ohms. Thanks Steve.
