Wonderful Land Mp3 Wonderful Land WAV I not consider myself as a good player, but the fact my humble attempt of Apache+Witch Doctor and Cavatina had over 3100 visitors/listeners. Inspired me and gave me courage enough to put a other one of my attempts to play some guitar here on this great site! This recording was done with a MIJ HM strat with my own version of the 59 pu's of some famous first strat in GB. Long story short they are made by a friend of mine, he has a website called ToneSpinner dot com. Of course the magnificent HCSE, my AC15H1TV a Devine BM600 condenser studio microphone and a Boss BR1600CD. Please let me know what you think of the sound and playing. It's the mp3 version of 2,9 Mb the WAV file sounds much better but is 21,3 Mb... Thank You! Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, The pickups sound good and you played it well. I use a free program called CDex to convert wav files to mp3 files. You can set the highest mp3 quality to 320 and I find very little difference between the original wav and mp3 when I use it that way. Regards, Charlie

Hi Rob, Don’t put yourself down with your playing ability, it’s excellent you play very well, there are many good players out there but equally, there are many of us who try to attain a standard such as yours. Very well done indeed with your efforts, keep up the good playing. Cheers Pete👍

Hi Charlie,Sandra,Steve and Pete, Thank you so very much for your nice comments about my sound and playing! I've added the WAV file and it's (in my ears)adding just something of a ambiance... The Pickups you hear are the last prototypes of the Rob's 59 Specials Pickups,(That's the name given by ToneSpinner)so to have my own "Signature pu's" makes me very proud and humble at the same time!! You can find details on the ToneSpinner site, which in the process of being turned in a English version. I'm not benefiting in anyway of the sale of these Pu's, just a free prototype set I'm allowed keep... Cheers Rob

Hi Rob That sounds The Business! Excellent tone and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the playing at all. How much of That Sound do you attribute to the pickups themselves, and the amp and to the HCSE? Cheers ian PS - yes the WAV does sound better. i think MP3 system steals some of the depth.

Hi Garry and Istvan, for the nice compliments on my sound and playing! Hi Ian, for the more then nice compliments on my sound and playing! It made me blush That Sound....lots of about it is written, argued, discussed, dispute and fabled about it....how can I contribute to it and bring my opinion and feelings and how I experience/sense it, in other words just my 2P,over to you all in... a language that's not my native one...? So here it goes IMHO: Fact the most important ingredient will always be lacking [Hank]! So I'm keeping people's skills on a instrument out of the story. The Amp has to be in he same ballpark as close it can be as the original used. The guitar - strings ditto. The echo too...so hence the heavenly HCSE...because a original drum Meazzi if you can use one, it's not the same sounding as Hanks crippled one. IMHO you can covered that because it's a case of knowing/research what you need,money... and the most important factor... the wife has to give her permission and allowed you to fool around with your hobby/addiction !!! If all above is covered, then you can get to the point you like to get fine-tuning the equipment. So I came to that point on my pickups. On the early recordings with the maple neck strat you can hear dull strings, good strings with a dull D&G and on top of that different volume balance when the strings are picked. That last point is because the pickups on that strat have a "special" staggering with the magnet poles. I got mails with questions about the Rob's '59 Specials, so maybe it's a good idea to write a thread about those. So I can go into details Cheers Rob
