Here is the first of the EF86 Amp Emulator demos I am currently recording. www.dropbox.com/s/w9f6nqvmac6v7lj/Theme%20From%20A%20Filleted%20Plaice%20EF86%20Amp%20Emulator%20demo.mp3?dl=0I used a Strat replica loaded with a CS 56 NOS pickguard and fitted with NewTone Electric Masters pure nickel 12-56 strings with a wound G. The sound is exactly what I recorded from the H & C using patch P09 and of course the new EF86 Amp Emulator unit but I did have to compress the lead guitar track to make it balance well with the UB Hank backing track, which I also modified to make it sound less modern. No other effects were added. I hope you like it. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Somehow, I'm unable to access the file. When I click on it, the screen just goes blank. Nothing else happens.

Hi Charlie,
I apologize for the late reply. I did not anticipate your very quick remedy to my problem. Received your email with the attached file of the tune. Both the sound and your playing are impressive. Listened to it six times straight. Couldn't wait to have my units to play with. Another Charlie Hall instant classic of a guitar pedal. Thank you very much.

Hi Charlie. I’m also unable to open your sound file. I receive the message “Redirection Failed” Not your fault but very frustrating! Dave

Hi Dave, I have emailed you the file.
Hi Mick, Thanks, glad you like it.
Hi Darryll, Thanks. If your amp has an amp model that sounds clean and flat it could work OK.

That was great, Charlie. I wonder which selection were you running this demo' through - Circuit 2 or Circuit 3 emulation?
Best Regards,
Dick B.

Hi Dick B, Thank you. I used Channel 2B, which emulates circuit 3 on the brilliance setting, with the Tone control set fairly low to reduce highs. I reversed the pot direction of the cut control and called it Tone instead, so if I had used a real Vox circuit 3 amp the cut control would have been turned most of the way up to reduce highs. The Tone controls on the unit do emulate exactly what a real Vox cut control does, except for the rotation direction.
Hi Mick, I don't know how many will be made for a first run but it should be more than the numbers I think will be needed for the level of interest shown.
Regards, Charlie

Thumbs up Charlie!!!
Will the ordering process be the same as with H&CSE back in the day, or has the factory/shop entered the modern time and can it be ordered on the website with PayPal?
Any news about the measurements of the EF86 gizmo?
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, Glad you like it! Stephen has a prototype case so I will have to ask him the measurements. Not my department, but I don't think anything has changed with the way orders are being processed. Regards, Charlie

Hi Michel, Thank you for your interest. The EF86 Amp Emulator pedal will be available direct from the manufacturer in England. They have been sending Hall & Collins Signature Echo units all over the world for more than 4 years. Regards, Charlie

Hi Mick, Many happy returns to you. I asked the manufacturer about the unit and was told it would be pushing it for Christmas. I have asked for it to be ready as people are waiting for it and might lose interest and so do whatever is necessary to make it happen. I can't do more than that and I must say it is frustrating. I have had a lot going on in the last 2 weeks or so but am hoping to do some more demo recordings around the middle of this week. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I appreciate all the blood sweat and tears you've put out to get this project to fruition. It's almost there. But, please take it easy. Please don't get overly stressed out. The holidays are fast approaching. I want you healthy and able to enjoy the season with your family.

Hi Alan, Thanks for your message, and it is much appreciated. I don't feel stressed out with the project, in fact I handle pressure situations quite well and sometimes even thrive on them. It must be the adrenalin or something! Regards, Charlie
