If nothing else it brings the shadows back to public attention for a little while! And will give something good to watch instead of reruns of Only Fools and Horses!

I personally didnt think it was too bad. an hour certainly wasnt long enough though!!
Couple of inaccuracies and the last 30 years were glossed over very quickly! The leaving of Jet and the addition of some of the others was disappointing but great to see the clip from the oh boy show and above all it has put The Shadows back on television and reminded a few people about them thats the main thing

Hi Steve, Yes, agree on the whole they crammed a lot into the hour which is certainly jot long enough to do real justice. I get frustrated with Hank when he’s talking about ‘ that sound’ when he’s in a scenario with a guitar set up. He was the same on Jules Holland, just has a bit of reverb or slight echo, you would think he would at last for a documentary he would have the TVS3 set up with a haunting sound, to get his message across so to speak. The tributes were good, especially Dave Gilmore, They are now getting on in years for sure but what legends they are.

Great to watch interesting seeing the hairstyles went from Elvis to Beatles , never knew the background about Tony Meehan leaving not getting out of bed , sounds a bit like me haha. Some familiar sights of Perth there with Hank driving around some lucky fans running into him there, I’ve never been lucky enough when I’ve been to Perth 🤷♂️ Matthew

Anybody else noticed the mini AC30 with a small The Shadows script in the bottom right corner of the amp front at 42:23 in Bruce's Richmond home? It looks like the one from the Thunderbirds movie.... or is it a AC1 "customized"? Apparently they filmed both the pantomime show.....? At 29:22 a AC30 TV front and at 29:29 seriously a T-Rex Room Mate on warm hall setting incl a Ibanez TS-9? Wonder what he used as a echo....the man is seriously in need for a H&CSE I enjoy it, for the punters it's enough info, just short/long enough not to switch channels.... us shadnuts it couldn't be never long enough I reckon? Cheers Rob

Hi Matthew, I strongly advice you watch it again... Hank hand is clearly in close up on the T-Rex Room Mate 1! Dave Gilmours effects are behind his back and don't fit on one board next to a Boss FV-300H, furthermore he isn't in need for a H&CSE because he has one Cheers Rob

the part showing hanks studio and pedal board was wonderful! Id love to see a proper video of Hank talking about his rig etc. Im assuming he was using the TVS for the echo effect but sounded like the vintage setting was turned off again.

Hank doesn't use a pedal board, that shot must be from somewhere else. Gary Taylor set up one of his TVS3's straight into a Vox and that is what he used. I wasn't there so I don't know what settings he used on the TVS3 or amplifier or how it was recorded.
Paul.

Hi Paul,
The plot thickens.... first a original 1960 TV front EF86 AC30, then a AAA maple neck (50th shad ?) strat...then a pedal board with T-Rex Room Mate 1 on warm room setting, surrounded by a BOSS FV300H a Ibanez TS-9...next Hank in close up...
Cheers Rob

The only effects pedal that Hank used for the Reunited Tour was for tremolo on A Voice in the Wilderness. Charlie helped Hank set up for the Final Tour and could comment pedals used then (if any).

I remember seeing a Danelectro pedal (possibly an overdrive) being tried out around the time of the final tour rehearsals but I don't remember if it was actually used or even present at any or the shows. Regards, Charlie

Hank mentioned in a video on his facebook that he uses an Ibanez tubescreamer so i assumed that was his pedal board they were showing especially with the volume pedal.
I wonder if that footage was taken from a shadows fan as i know a few were contacted last year about being involved in the documentary. Danny Godley does own an AC30 TV front that he got from Phil Kelly so could that be Phil Kellys pedal board? Interesting stuff!
