Hi Charlie, just curious were the KCP amps Vox clones or were there some differences? Matthew

Hi Matthew, Some parts of the design were similar to Vox, the EF86 channel and the power amp were very similar. The clean channel preamp was very different and nothing like Vox at all. Parts of that preamp were more similar to 60s Fender preamps. The Harmonic Lift control on the clean channel was my design and like nothing found anywhere else. Hank told me he liked the two middle controls, as he called it, and that he liked everything about the amp. Pinnacle amps were close to a cross between a Matchless DC30 and a Vox Heritage. I had nothing to do with the design of the Pinnacle, but had everything to do with putting everything right that was wrong with them. Regards, Charlie

I played one for 15 months. The most striking thing about it was that it sounded big wherever I played. I had to replace the Russian made EF86 valve twice in the time I used it as it became noisy both times and lost gain. However, I wasn't using the EF86 channel. Regards, Charlie
