Good evening all, I happened upon this version of Apache tonight, unusual in that it is performed on the Gayageum (pronounced "kai-gum," I believe) rather than guitar. youtu.be/vR69U6c3JSQThe Gayageum is widely used in traditional Korean music, but Luna Lee has made a name for herself with her interesting arrangements of contemporary rock and pop songs. I've often thought a Shadows cover would work well - I'm glad to be proven right! In the comments, someone suggests Hank would love this. Perhaps by sharing it here he will have the chance to see it for himself! Enjoy. GT

Interesting instrument, thanks for showing the link as I noticed this video which I watched and am in awe of the talent that was on the stage at that gig : It is just a shame that the video quality is so poor but I bet that it was a night to remember for all who were there, both on and off the stage.

I'm amazed at the skill shown in playing that instrument. It was fascinating and compulsive.
Thank you Sandra for that link - as you said there was a huge amount of talent involved in that performance.

I'm fairly sure that was a tribute to Bob Dylan night Sandra, I had it on a double VHS tape. Dylan was the worst voice in it. Len

Dylan made a whole career with a handful of cords, and sing they out of tune. Same with Neal Young, I can't remember if en when... I've heard him "sing" in tune.
Not that long ago a accoladed modern artist with dozens of awards and platinum/gold disk, sung HBTY for his child, so weak and out of tune it was ridicules...
Autotune is king these days, image is holly, talent comes last!
On topic, sadly all foreign artist choose almost every time one of the weakest version of Apache....
Cheers Rob

I don't think anyone other than Dylan himself thought he had a good voice Len, he was a good songwriter though. I was more impressed with the likes of Clapton, Harrison, Petty and McGuinn being together on stage playing guitar together than any of their vocal skills

Very good playing but it's not for me, at least not that tune anyway.
Gonna stick up for Dylan:- Unique voice not always hitting the notes. Lay Lady Lay and Knocking on Heavens Door, the best versions of these are by Dylan. Many people have covered them, indeed I think he is the most covered artist of all time, admittedley covered for the brilliant lyrics not his vocal prowess.
