Hi Everyone
I am really enjoying this album at the moment, Ive just started learning You're the one that I want, my daughters favorite (probably not for much longer after hearing me practice over and over lol). Just wondering if any one knew which unit was used on this track, after looking at the Paul's list on the TVS site it could be either.
Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,
At that time the 101, 150, 201 were there for a few years, and the 301 was about to get the stage. However a new album of the Shads has most of the time some older recording from the shelf recorded in past times. So don't take poison on a album release date and presume he use always the gear you think. For ex-sample, he used the maple neck 34346 from the summer of 59 for Wonderful Land studio recording and not the most common selected rosewood by a big group of detail spotters.
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob
Thanks for you reply. I know exactly what you are saying and am aware there is a window prior to the release of the album. These two units to me seem to be the most likely candidates, I really love the sound of this album and this track in particular. Id have an uneducated guess and say i think it may be the binson.
thanks
Scott

I did a little research into string of hits a long time ago,the results being both of the above units on different tracks,2 strats...1 with 11/50 strings the other with 9/42 with the exception of the top E being a .46 as the .42 kept going out of tune,(compare "heart of glass" to "Argentina" re guitars,a ds 1 distortion pedal,(mentioned by Hank at the time when interviewed about Cavatina, 1 AC30 used was modified a couple of years earlier during mwf era. A great album indeed followed by the miserable "Another string of ....... hope you're all well.....gary
