Hi,
Bit of a history question that have always wanted to know. What is the history of the UB Hank CDs? How did they come about? What inspired the idea? Think first one was recorded in about 1994, released about 1995. I remember I heard about them in around 1997 when the UB Hank Guitar Club was started by Pat Terrett.
Just curious!
Thanks,i
Richard

I stand to be corrected but I believe they were indeed the brainchild of Pat Terrett. He certainly had UBH1 & 2 on sale at a Shads fans event he organised in South Wales in 1997 (I bought a copy of UBH1 there). I can't remember in what month that event took place but I still have a copy of the UBH magazine for June, 1997 in which there's an ad announcing the release of UBH2. The ad also said UBH1 was still available so it must have been released before then.
Incidentally, I haven't heard of Pat Terrett for some considerable time. Does anyone know if he's still around?
Tony

I thought initially Gary Taylor made them for Hank, prior to them being released publicly later on.

Gary Taylor made the tracks for sure.
Edit - just checked the album sleeve UBH 1 , recorded and produced by Gary Taylor and Trevor Spencer, Shaboom studios, Western Perth, Australia.
