Peter Hood, drummer of The Atlantics has passed away on the Gold Coast Queensland Australia. He had been ill for quite a while. R.I.P. Peter 1943 - 2021.

Yep, except the commentator got the year wrong it was 1963 not 1965. Probably the best surf group there was. They really put Dick Dale to shame IMHO. I don't know how Peter kept up the pace of those drum backings but he did.

Yes great drumming timing , they came to Australia as migrant children from the former Yugoslavia and Hungry. A Klemt echolette was used on the record, and here they were using a Roland Space echo Martin Cilia told me Matthew

The Klemt was stolen on a New Zealand tour. Peter's original drum is in the Sydney museum as is that strat of Jim's that he is using which is the original used on Bombora.
