Just watching the concert on Channel 5 and Cliff introduced the "original" strat being played by his lead guitarist on "Please Don't Tease". Some good shots showing the figuring on the neck and the gold hardware but the guitarist was left-handed so the guitar was restrung and played "upside down". Looked mighty odd to me! They'd attached the strap to the headstock so I suspect that no "permanent" mods were made other than changing the nut. Phew!

yup I saw that he was a very competent player but.... I felt there was something in his playing missing / lacking I don't know it seemed mechanical and without much feeling ………..probably just me becoming a miserable old basket

I missed that bit with the Stratocaster. Are we saying that Cliff has got it back from Bruce?

Bruce and Brian Bennett were both there watching the show.
As a left handed player I watched the lead guitarist closely....34346 wasn't 'restrung' for left hand, it was played totally upside down, a big plus for Bobby the guitarist.
Like myself being left handed, he probably also found it hard finding left handed guitars back in the day, so you learnt to play a few things 'upside down' just to try guitars in music shops.
Regards, Baz.
