Sadly, yesterday Keith Woods passed away in a London hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Many wont know Keith, but he was among the founders of the Tales From The Woods (TFTW) roots music organisation based in London. Keith and TFTW members were involved in having the blue R&R heritage plaque hung on the wall of the building that once was the 2i's coffee bar. TFTW organised an annual 2i's artists reunion show and Keith was "instrumental" in ensuring that The Shadows and their music were represented in many of their TFTW 2i's reunion shows which were held at the 100 Club and, in most years, the event included a Shadows set played by Brian Licorice Locking (bass), Clem Cattini (drums) myself (lead) with Kevin Harris (rhythm). Keith went on to promote the TFTW 2i's reunion show as the British Rock'n'Roll Heritage Show in and around London and the south east. Earlier this year he was discussing with me the inclusion of another "Shadows" set following the sad loss of Licorice and the retirement of Clem.
Keith Woods devoted much of his life to keep our music alive and his passing will be a great loss.
If this is of interest, then you can learn more about Keith and his work with Tales From The Woods by following the link:-

RIP Keith Woods
