Hi there. I'm sure this question has been asked before but after hours of reading through forums and websites etc I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.
I have and Alexis Q2 which had all the shadows patches on them. Got it about 15 years ago, used it solid for a few years with no issues and then life for in the way and it spent the next 10 years in the cupboard. So upon plugging it in again there is obviously corrupted files and im getting the "bad program" comments on the user own patches. I realise this comes down to the battery that is in the unit, in wiring up a new battery this disnt fix anything like it has in some people's experience.
In further reading ive come across some people saying that the shadows patches were actually the factory set patches on these units so I should still have the shadows patches, they just don't have their saved names anymore (the patches did have the song names against them), is this true?
If I need to reinstall the patches then is there a list somewhere where I can just manually re program them? And how crucial is the battery? Is this just for the user own created patches?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It will depend on exactly which Shadows patches were installed and whether the DSP chip is the original Alesis one or not. If patches disappear or the names change because of battery failure this should ohnly affect the User banks and then the User banks must be reloaded from the appropriate data file. Regards, Charlie

Thanks for the reply. I'm not too sure what was installed, ever6thing was loaded when I bought it. Is there somewhere where I can get the patches to install or the settings for each patch to manually load back into it?

I think only the seller would have known what was installed. I can tell you that very few of my patches had tune names so it seems that my patches were not installed in your unit. Regards, Charlie

Ok thanks. Good to know. Im pretty sure the fella i bought it off was buying secondhand units and installing the patches himself. In that case I think I'll just put it back together and use the factory patches that are still on it. They sound pretty good.
Thanks for your help.
