Hi all, I am a relative novice and I am learning a few Shads tunes. I have two books with CDs. The first is 'play guitar with Hank Marvin' and the second is 'Jam with Hank' When looking at the music for Geronimo I noticed that in the book play guitar with Hank Marvin the introduction (the thirds starting with the high A and C are played on the B and E strings (8/10 fret) whilst in the Jam with Hank book the same notes are played on the G and B strings ( 13/14 frets). Is there a correct position or is it optional. I have also noticed some other differences in the way F chord sequence is played with multiple notes in one version and singe notes in the other Perhaps some of you experienced Shads guitarists would post your thoughts.
Thanks, Robert

Hi Robert, I learned by watching others play, before tab was ever heard of (at least by me). I would play it on the B and E strings. I think Hank would have done the same, simply by the kind of sound he produced on that part. If your G string is a wound one I would definitely advise playing it that way. It doesn't matter so much if your G string is plain. The important thing is to do what is easiest for you and whichever gives the best sound. Regards, Charlie
