Has anybody had any sort of success with the program "notation Musician" ? it is supposed to listen/hear a piece of midi file and then produce sheet music !! from it, but all I get is basically a load of gibberish no matter it seems what settings I use, I mean is this just a load of con or what,
My main problem is when I am learning new stuff at times fast passages need to be "explained to me" LOL memory and ears not really what they used to be, any assistance as usual gratefully received.
Brian

As far as I know, MIDI cannot produce any useful information from audio files that were not syncronised with MIDI originally. Even if that were the case, MIDI cannot produce note information from audio sources.
They only way I know to pick out individual notes is to slow down the track (it is possible to do this without changing the musical pitch with some programs) or to edit the track by cutting it between every note so each one can be picked out separately.
I believe mp3 files can be slowed down in later versions ofWindows Media Player. It was discussed some weeks ago here.

Charlie

ThanksCharlie, that about sums up my xp with the program, I do have registered version of Pulsmaster Pro, that does a brilliant job of slowing cutting, in fact everything except printing out the notes, never thought about cutting individual ones tho' I wonder if it may take to long, but will give it a try.
cheers

Hi Brian
I've just downloaded and run Notation Musician, trial version, which seemed to work quite fine. I opened a midi of foot tapper and the notation for all tracks came out very good.

Goran, many thanks for your efforts and trying the program, Also for your wonderful site, I have repeatedly tried to make use of Notation but had little or no success, hence the plea on here, I will have another go only this time I will try a midi of Foot tapper and see how I go, in the event it fails may I come back to you to discuss settings of the program etc etc, cheers for now.
