Hi All, You don't hear this one played much. I have the Shadows original 45 record, and have heard them play it many times over the years. Every time they play it, it seems to be different to the last. I have tried and tried to get an acceptable tone for this one. I have tried the middle p/u, the neck p/u, and the bridge p/u with all the various settings on the amplifier, Graphic Equalizer, and compressor/sustainer. Also with them switched in and out in various combinations. Anyway, I have settled for the bridge p/u, with the graphic equalizer set to reduce the higher frequencies. 1979 US Strat, 10-46 strings MagicStomp with Charlie's EFTP patch U08 BOSS GE-7 Graphic Equalizer Roland Cube 30X amplifier Bass 50% Middle 75%, Treble 60% Any comments please, good, bad, other, etc, are welcome. www.4shared.com/audio/ur_pFmgd/Dance_On.htmlKind regards Roger

Hi Roger, Well played with a good sound. It reminded my of the sound Hank got when I heard him play it live, using the bridge pickup of course. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Many thanks for listening and your kind comments. Your probably right. I think that I was influenced by the tone that Hank tends to use nowadays.
Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger. it's a darn good effort, well played and good close sound. as for searching for the exact Hank sound, its never gonna happen. like Grip says. its the Holly Grail. but players can get very close! again well done... regards Lou

Hi Lou, Tony, and Phil,
Thank you very much for listening and your very kind comments. I wrestled with the pickup and tone choice for this one. I'm glad it worked out ok.
Thanks again Roger

Hi Roger,
The tone on your rendition is as close as you could get to the original as far as I am concerned. It was well played too. Thanks for sharing it.
Regards, Len
