Hi All, I have been having another go with this one. It's not the original arrangement, but it's the way I like to play it. I always play it on the neck pickup, but for a change I thought I'd play about with different tones. So here it is: Bridge pickup, with a GE-7 graphic equalizer to raise the mids and cut some of the treble, and MagicStomp Charlie's patch U12 (instead of U10). See what you think (I'm not sure). All comments good, bad , other, etc, are welcome. www.4shared.com/audio/vbO4oaU-/SWK3____.htmlKind regards Roger

Hey Roger. This is excellent. Some stunning 'extras' that blended so well, there may well be others but I ain't heard the original for a long time. I must also give you maximum points for the perfect timing and expert playing. Really enjoyed this and I am sure I am the first of many who are green with envy! An outstanding recording Roger anyone would be proud of.

Hi Tony and Charlie,
Many thanks for listening and your kind comments, much appreciated. I'm still a little undecided as to the tone and pickup choice, but I think that I prefer this one.
Thanks again.

Hi Roger:
Well done. Really I enjoy it with some "extras" that are originals and others from the modern Hank's version. It's always fine listen some plus and when it are well located in the music. Also I think that you improve a little to looking for another different patch than the traditional U10, and also different pickup switching. I also bees doing some different patches (mainly U13) with the adequate altering in tone to give me a compensation.....
Again well played and sounding good.
Cheers from Brazil Roberto

Hi Roger,
I really like your version of 'Sleepwalk'. Your playing and overall sound are excellent. The improvisations are successful and not overdone. I like the ending. All up, a first class effort.
Cheers, Len

Hi Roger
That was a very nice version, played with feeling, and I thought it worked well using the bridge pickup. Lovely thick tone too.

Hi Ian,
Thank for listening and your kind comments. I thought it would make a change as I usually play it with a different tone/pickup etc. It seemed to work ok. I'm still constantly messing about with tones and pickup combinations etc, as I suppose most of us are. We never seem to feel we quite get there though do we. I suppose it's the same with all musicians, artists, etc. Part of the fascination I think.
Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger
I'm in total agreement with you regarding tone. I place it above all else and the search for it is certainly never ending. When I record something, like you I may try several pickup positions and several amp sims before I begin to feel happy about the result, and then I may go back later and redo it all again. It's a well known fact that creativity contains a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
Keep at it my friend.
Regards Ian

Hi Ian,
It takes me hours, and probably 50 to 100 takes to record a number to my satisfaction. It's either the wrong tone/pickup combination, or the wrong volume or effect. On top of that, I maybe duff a note or miss a string or something. It drives me to the edge. Then, when I am finally happy with my recording, I store it in my archive. Then comes another problem. After I have listened to it half a dozen times, I start to feel that the tone isn't quite right, or I notice a missed note or something. Then I start revisiting it, and so I go on, around the circle. I think the men in white coats are waiting around the corner. People would wonder why I bother, but there's the grip, the determination, the fascination etc. I'm sure I'm not on my own. I think it's called enjoyment.
I love it.
Keep pluckin' em Roger
