I've posted a version of Midnight recorded some time ago, and uploaded this after reading John Haldane's post. It's one of my favourite Shadows tracks and it's not as Hank plays it, but I will re-record it again. I'm using my Japanese, rosewood board, "62 "reissue" strat and recorded through a Line 6 PodPro mk1. Any constructive suggestions will be appreciated, and I hope you enjoy it. Hi Roger,
I'm pleased you liked my version. I tried to get a slightly smoother sound than the original, and didn't want it to be too harsh, but still have some guts to it.

Hi Ian, Very good sound and well played. Not so sure about the backing track, there seems to be something hissing on certain sounds. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie Thank you for listening and commenting. I'm afraid it's the backing track again from the same source, so I think I'd better dump the whole set and find and more reliable set.
As I'm hoping to record this track again, I'm pleased you mentioned the hiss which I hadn't noticed before at all. Shows how bad my ears have become over the years of constant gigging.

Hi Ian,
One of many Shads favourites of mine.
Well played and a nice tone. I also appreciated your version of Sleep Walk - well played with a tone very close to the original.
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy and John
Thank you both for your appreciative comments. It's what gives us the impetus to improve where we can.
John, I'm sure you'll achieve a sound that you'll be happy with and when you do please post it for us to listen to.
Jeremy, I'm hoping to get over to Sydney later this year to visit a friend and hope we may be able to meet up. I'm pleased to hear you liked Sleepwalk.
Regards Ian

Hi Ian,
That was a well-played rendition of 'Midnight'. I agree with Charlie about the BT but that does not detract from the playing. Well done.

Thanks Len for your nice comment.
I will be redoing this soon and will make sure the b/t isn't too loud. I don't know if I will be able to match the tone exactly, as I did a lot of tweaking at the time and have since changed to a ToneLab, though I still have the PodPro. I'll have to think carefully on how to go about it.

Hello Hannes
Thank you for listening and your nice comment my friend.
I still haven't managed to re-record this track due to some serious family commitments that have have restricted my guitar playing time, but will eventually get around to it.
Thanks again Ian
